Its been known for a while that Germany is almost impossible to get a verdict against the home fighter.

Sven Otkke made a career of getting beat for 12 rounds only to win UD 116 - 112 on all three cards.

Last night Macklin threw more and landed more , pressed the action , and so what if Sturm landed a few eye catching shots , he didnt win.

But Germany isnt the only spot I have seen this , UK - Glen Johnson couldnt get decisions there.

    ****ing Oakland is a Joke.

Martinez has been robbed twice in the US.

And Missouri looks a tough spot to fight Devon Alexander.

For me the only real neutral ground looks to be Vegas , where I know there have been bad decisions , but not on a regular basis.

    thoughts?

The problem isn't so much the locale as it is where the judges reside from. To me, there is absolutely no way in hell a judge from the State where a fighter resides should ever be anywhere near the ring for a hometown fighter. How in god's name a judge from Missouri was allowed on that panel is paramount to absurdity.

Depends who is fighting and who's the promoter imo. everywhere is as bad as each other.

You must always be careful of cards with either Don King or Sauerland being in charge of the promotion, not sharing it equally with another promotional firm.

Therefore anywhere in the States with King in charge and mostly in Germany with Sauerland in charge.

    I don't think it's really that different.

The most "high profile" robberies have been in the US, but that's because a lot of the biggest fights have been held there.
And they are the most consistent, FNR (Friday Night Robberies) is a great example.

But I don't think it's that much worse in any of the big countries... Of course you can bring up the Ottke and Öner incidents in Germany but they are indeed incidents.

I can't make a pick... In the late 80's I would have called "Italy" without a doubt, now it's everywhere and the worst thing is, a lot of the countries residents deny it!

With Ward, no one has beat him on or off paper so we can't say he's the Ottke of boxing just yet. Refs do let him foul as he pleases but there's worse places than Oakland. Recently it's been near impossible to beat Devon as a foreign fighter without ko'ing him. I hate corruption in boxing and it's a shame it's not going anywhere.

Are you serious? Maybe there is a lot of robberies in America, because more than half the fights happen in America. Percentage wise, it's not even that bad

If you read what I have said , I have said the only neutral ground I see is Vegas, which is in America.

Smaller shows in Mid America, well thats another case.

    Ask Devon Alexander...

Germany is still the worst i think, but they happen everywhere, regardless of how much local protest that it dont happen here!

See I dont think that was a robbery. I Had a close fight either way.

The most recent dodgy decision in the UK was Witter against Bradley.

Bradley won by about 6 rounds and got by on a very suspect SD.
