Juan Diaz retired, Ivan Calderon's moved down in weight. What's up with Ricardo Cordoba, Nobuo Nashiro and Cesar Seda being that low. All three should be top 10 in their respective divisions IMO.
Juan Diaz out. I think all other rankings mentioned are appropriate. go into more detail as to why you think otherwise. until calderon fights there he stays at light fly.
Stephane Jamoye was doubtful as a top 15 fighter before the McDonnell fight, now he has two losses since then (Leo Santa Cruz, who stopped Jamoye, isn't in the rankings?). Charlie Ota could be considered at light middle. Other than the mighty Ishida, he's beaten the best Japanese boxers at the weight (although not generally a strong weight in Japan, Yuba - who he has now beaten twice - and Shibata are good fighters) and Australian prospect King Davidson decisively (although it was scored a split decision ). I'd push Argenis Mendez into the top 10 at super featherweight. Bernabe Concepcion shouldn't be ranked.
I think Seda's wins against Soto, Reyes and Lopez, coupled with giving a decent showing against Narvaez(who's arguably the best fighter at the weight). He should at the very least be ahead of Lopez, who's ranking of 5th I find bizarre. It's a stronger body of work than Guerrero, who aside from beating a faded Luis Maldonado, has only really taken an absolute beating from Darchinyan and lost a decision to Martinez. Likewise Nashiro, who has wins over Kono and the half-decent Tomiyama, and two extremely close fights with the division's number 1, one of those being a draw, and a close fight with Rojas. I again think he should definitely be higher than Lopez and probably Guerrero too. Plus, Daiki Kameda isn't campaigning at super-fly as far as I know, I think he fought at super-bantam last time round and his next fight is at 122 too. I think Cordoba should probably be ahead of Munroe. He's got a much better resume overall I think, and in their respective losses to higher ranked fighters, Cordoba's margin of defeat was much narrower. Plus Molitor looks shot at this stage, with consistant unimpressive performances culminating in a loss to the average Ndlovu. I suppose a case can be made due to his inactivity though.
I don't want to get into an argument with a troll, but for one rankings are totally subjective, and 1 vs 3 can be for the title.
Obviously with rankings being subjective, there's nothing that much wrong with Seda and Nashiro's placing, I'm just a bit surprised they're that low. But are we thinking of the same Jose Lopez here Rob? The same one who Seda and Marvin Sonsona beat?
your on that again Wallet. You gotta go by official decisions. theres plenty of people that felt Alexander won btw.
Going by official decisions makes the rankings pointless. The vast majority thought it was a robbery.
Good read as always. Just wondering how do u rank the different organizations? Would you agree with this ranking of them: WBC, WBA, IBF,WBO, Ring, IBO. Thats how the Daily Mail ranked them today? Surely the Ring Belt should be viewed as a more prestigious belt?
Well if you are going by official decisions then Macklin does not deserve to be ahead of Pirog either, good performance by him or not.
