Considering the opposition I thought he was caught a bit too much. Looks very flat on his feet as well. Nice shot for the knockdown though.

2 fights in a month is great for Spike after his inactivity. Not his fault hes stopping them in 1 round but a few rounds would have probably done him good. Hopefully ****** can keep him busy now. I still think hes better off at light middle but he seems settled at 160 now. Slap have you any idea if ****** will continue to leave him fight on Irish cards with other promoters or was this a one off?

Yeah just realised I was looking at the wrong opponent. While I don't rate Fitz that's still impressive.

    Don't people really hate him?

****** has been signing quite a few Irish fighters recently. Whats up with that?

na Rob its Fitz people dont like. Spikes seemed sound any time I met him although we both been pissed any time I met him too. As for signing Irish fighters , firstly I thought he was planning on putting shows on here but now Im not so sure. The last couple years an awful lot of young Irish have been going England for work again so maybe its just to try tap into that market. Also Spike qualifies for British and CW titles

Well I think FW fancied a Macklin fronted Irish show.

RTE aint interested in boxing anymore.

Irish people will turn out in droves for a well produced show with a big headliner.

Smaller promoters cant churn that out and the moment.

FW possibly can but none of the guys he has that Irish fans would be interested in (Gavin, Ormond, Spike, Byrne etc) are guys that could carry a big show in Ireland yet.

Macklin aint burnt his with FW I dont think, so maybe the door is still open there after his showing on the weekend!?

Spike is not bad, he wont win a european title or anything but he seems to be crowd pleasing.

Need to see more of him but wasn't impressed with that. Didn't look much more than a white collar fighter.

Chin way up in the air, reaching for shots, falling in.

He got caught with a lot. His style will be exciting and he can obviously punch a bit so who knows. But based on that I think he would be doing well to get a decent area strap. Prizefighter could be his friend!!!

Wasn't Fitz and Longs first fight a very good scrap. Think Tony Mush got me to watch it but that was a long time back.

He can bang pretty hard. Needs a lot of work though to mix it with the likes of Martin Murray.
