Weird ENDING of Humberto "La Zorrita" Soto Vs Motoki Sasaki FIGHT

I have a feeling this fight will be very hard to get made. Negotiations will be intense.

Certainly the right mans hand was raised in this fight, but that is'nt the point however.

......the point here is that the ref ruled that Soto got injured by an accidental fall.

Does the rulebook state that a fighter taking a fall accidentally merits the fight being stopped and the fight going to the cards?????

This decision to send this fight to the cards could have set up a bad precedent......it was'nt the case in this fight, but whats to stop a fighter in the future who is up on the cards but losing steam real fast, to sieze the opportunity when seeing water on the canvas, and faking a spill and pretended to be injured so that the fight is stopped right then and there and have it go to the cards????

Is this what the current rulebook states should happen?

 

Please please please please don't tell aztecas to do anything. We all know we'll be posting in this thread for the next 3 weeks about how Soto himself is God.

But anyways yeah this was a brawl. Asian dude look like he seriously trained for months to just bs around in the ring while getting beat down.

I think Soto was really hurt.

 

wtf is all this fixed ****? Obviously Soto slipped a couple times on a ring that was substandard, and it looked to me like he did the splits twice in a row. That would pull the **** out of the muscles in my thigh too. Why would he suddenly 'fake' an injury halfway thru the 12th rd of a fight he was winning when he was in no trouble at all?

 

Agreed, I dont think Soto faked an injury.

.......but do you think that right protocol was followed by having the fight go to the cards over what was ruled a slip in which Soto was unable to continue???

 

Yea it looked like it was knee vs muscle. I think it was an accidental clash of knee or bone against Sotos thigh. With Sasaki coming full speed ahead and Soto ducking shifting his body you know that clash had to hurt. But slipped because of water, didnt look like it.

sasaki's knee hit sotos knee after the superman punch causing the injury. it is essentially the same as when two fighters collide and there is a headbutt.

i watched this fight live on the broadcast here in mexico. to all fairness to soto, he was definately winning the fight and was not suffering from physical damage or exhaustion and in all likelihood would have finished the fight.

sasaki was clearly disappointed and rightfully so.

I agree. It looked like to me that the crash of legs caused Soto's injury, so I would presume that it would be treated like a clash of heads opening up a cut that prevents a fighter from continueing.

If this were the case then correct thing to do would be to got to the cards.......

......however, the ruling in the ring was that Soto slipped in the wet ring which caused the injury. If this is the case then I dont believe you go to the cards after an accidental slip that Sasaki has nothing to do with.

 

i dont believe the figth was called because of a slip.

it was called because of a clash of knees between sasaki and soto after sasaki's attempt at a superman punch.

this is no different than when kermit the frog jumped out of the ring against pw. they ruled it that the clash of knees caused the frog to fall out of the ring which caused his injury and, therefore, the decision went to the cards.

i dont believe i ever heard the ruling that the fight was called off because of sotos slip. but then again, i was in a bar full of screaming mexicans.
