Probably the weakest heavyweight decade in history. There's Lewis, the Kit bros and not much else.

No you're right, there has never been a worse decade than that. It's quite common to have 3 greats in the same era pulling of some of their biggest wins.

 

Thought it over here's a new list

1) Lewis
2) Vitali
3) Wladimir
4) Brewster (big gap b/w 3-4, but Brewster had a nice title run)
5) Byrd (lot of questionable decisions but 2 title runs during the 2000s).
6) Ibragimov
7) Valuev (more questionable decisions, but some decent wins)
8) Chagaev
9) Peter
10) Corrie Sanders (not many wins but was briefly at the top)

4-10 were all champs at some point but only Brewster became "the man".

Originally I had Ruiz in the list but taking a 2nd look at his Boxrec it's clear he doesn't deserve it.

Honorable mention to Rahman, Ruiz, JCG, Maskaev, Haye, Holyfield, Thompson, Liakovitch, Briggs, Brock........

 

Good list. 100 percent agree that that cheating fraud Ruiz belongs nowhere near this list. Excessive holding is against the rules and when fighters use illegal tactics to "win" fights they couldn't otherwise, it should not be rewarded.

Glad to see im not the only one who rates Valuev. Not a great heavyweight by any stretch, but he was at least consistent and competitive despite his limited abilities.

 

K guys just scored the Golota/Ruiz fight...pretty boring but in all honesty it wasn't too bad for a "Ruiz" fight.

I don't think it was a robbery at all, the fight could have went to either fighter. Two judges scored the fight 114-111 for Johnny, that was a ****in disgrace.
