One thing you have to admit about Haye is..

    He is good for HW boxing and boxing in general. Wlad says Haye will be his 50th KO victim but apart from hardcore fans no one would be able to name ONE of the previous 49. The interest in this fight has been generated by Haye, he is happy to play the heel in order to make the fight bigger and more profitable for both men. Wlad will be loving every stunt/punk move Haye pulls as it is £'s in the bank. People getting on Hayes case about his actions really don't understand the business side of big time boxing promotion, it hooks in casual observers and makes fights into mega-fights.

    Personally, I want Haye to win as there will be another big fight with a big build up on the horizon against his brother Vitali. If Wlad wins who is next for him? HW scene slips back into mediocrity IMO. When was the last time a HW title fight was PPV? That alone shows the disinterest that the public have for the division. If Haye wins do you think his fight with Vitali will be free to air? Not that I like paying for fights but it does indicate the demand and interest in certain fighters/fights.

    You have to be from the UK. The fight is on PPV nowhere else in the entire world but the UK.

    You think this fight would be on PPV in the UK if Haye had Spanish, Brazilian or Thai citizenship instead of the British one? :deal

    No dickhead. I mean that this fight isn't PPV and when was the last one that was. This shows the decline of the former undisputed champion of all Boxing weight divisions. In the late 80's and 90's almost EVERY title fight was PPV, again I don't like paying for fights but it does show how far the division has slipped in the public conciousness.

    Yeah you're right. There is no more interest/buzz about this fight than any other recent HW fight on this message board. I mean you are so disintersted in it you wouldn't go to the trouble to change your avatar in the lead up to the fight or post about it or anything like that.

    Wlad needs Haye just about as much as someone needs Ski's in a Sauna... Let's not forget 2 HUGE points.

    1. Wlad is doing Haye a favour. Haye is NOT Wlads mandatory. He doesn't have to fight him. David will be getting the biggest purse of his entire career... All thanks to Wladimir.

    2. Wlad and Vitali have been known to sell out Arena's WITHOUT an opponent even being NAMED, let alone a degenerate like Haye..


    in conclusion, He doesn't need him whatsoever.. As someone said "There is a crisis in the heavyweight division, and the name of the crisis is Klitschko brothers!

    ahhhhhhh still banking on the Haye win! as for authors post...yeah agreed with most points. do u really think Haye would fight Vitali if he beats Wlad?...think most would agree Wlad the better fighter...could this fight supercede interest? in turn, larger financial benefits? also with Haye stating his intent to retire? imo....whatever the result, if u fear the HW divison is going to slip back to mediocrity...surely it will whatever happens as far as the result goes? personally speaking, the HW division hasnt been on my radar for long time....theres too many others to look at with many more interesting fights to be made...but thats just me.

    Well, I was beginning to warm to Haye untill he pulled the Steward/handwrapping crap. He can be funny, but one thing is trash talking another thing is crossing the line which he does too frequently. It gets old. Besides I really don't think he has much of a shot. Wladimir is ranked #5 P4P by the RING while Haye would probably struggle to break into the top 20. Wladimir has beaten several top 10 heavyweights over the years including no. 5 and 6 in the current list. Haye has only beaten Valuev who I imagine might have been in the top 10 at the time. That's a hell of a difference in accomplishments.

    Well let's look at the facts. Sell out arenas before an opponant was even named. In teh UK Hatton, Calzaghe used to do this also. It was generally met with derision from US boxing fans and rightly so as it indictaes fish that have outgrown the pond but are reluctant to mov eto bigger waters. So the Klitchkos selling out stadiums in Germany means very little globally. This is also the biggest purse of Wlads career, all thanks to Haye as the fight is PPV in the UK and Haye is giving Klit a % of it, that was one of the original stumbling blocks when the fight was first tried to be made. And Haye does hold a belt also that Wlad is not his mandotory challenger for. Haye is fighting in Wlads back yard and is obviously giving a huge size advantage away as he is a CW that has moved up.

    And also you misread my post. I didn't state that Haye was good for Wlad I said that he was good for BOXING and the HW division. If anyone disputes that I really think they must be blinded by hate. When Cassius Clay fought Liston you know everyone hated him and wanted to see him get STFU by Liston. It is an age old promotion trick to get people tuning as they want to see you lose. You suckers are buying into it wholesale.

    True but if haye wins it at least sets up the possibility one one more big fight. There are really only 3 big name HW's out there. 2 are fighting on Saturday and the other will be in the corner. None of the otehrs set the casual fans pulse racing in the slightest.

    i think u grossly neglect some very simple points:

    Haye might not be the mandatory but Klit knows he is the biggest pay day for him....re- the uk tv rights split?

    They will BOTH get the biggest purses of their careers, this isnt exclusive to Klit.

    Wlad does need Haye to validate his own legacy or all detractors will forever bring up that he didnt fight (in their opinions) the most likely to put a realistic challenge.

    Haye needs Wlad for the same reasons (even though i dont believe Haye is interested in legacy, its all about the money for him)

    In the US it was PPV, At the European mainland we always watched it for FREE. But since there's no US Heavyweight boxer today who has a snowball's chance in hell, and the boring Wlad vs Ibri fight they lost interest.

    PPV isn't a measurepoint for worldwide interest in boxing, it's a measurepoint for US interest in boxing. The Brit networks followed in their footsteps because of $ signs (Pound signs actualy), but luckily nowhere else have they done that.

    PPV is bad for boxing, period... Like said, it makes it a nice sport instead of a sport of the people. I'm certain a lot of big boxing fans in the US don't even watch a lot of the fights because of the hefty pricetag. Not everyone has $220 a month to spare to watch every week.

    i personally doubt Haye will be interested in Vitali if he wins against Wlad.....he'll walk away (in his mind) on top. There may be a remote possibility Haye would fight Vitali if it goes to close points win for Wlad and some think it could have gone either way.
