In a bull**** move Robert Guerrero's upcoming fight with Marcos Maidana will be for the WBA World light welterweight title.

Khan's fight with Zab 'Super' Judah has been upgraded out of respect for Zab and will now be for the WBA 'Super' World light welterweight title.

Presuming Guerrero has enough nous to see off Maidana does this mean we'll be seeing Khan-Guerrero down the line?

That could be an interesting bout. I see Guerrero as being a tougher opponent than Bradley myself but I guess we need to see him at 140 before we can really know.

The Super and Regular titles get on my nerves but I'm happy for Guerrero that he is fighting for a "world title" again. He deserved a title shot at Lightweight. Guerrero TKO 8-10.

The "Super" title is designed specificaly for unification fights, so I've no problem with them upgrading the title.

Guerrero is an interim WBA champ at Lightweight as well as being a damn good fighter, Maidana has a longterm Interim LWW champ on and off, so its fine for a regular title match.

Khan fighting Guerrero next would be an incredible matchup, if they both win their respective fights, especially since how much he struggled against McCloskeys southpaw style.

Its bascially keeping options open if Bradley decides not to fight him again.

Good fight but I guess we will see "Khan fighting smaller opponents" complaints again

No they aren't. They dish them out whenever they fancy.

Ignore the baubles on line and you've got 2 good fights.

The bit about him being on a 'collision course' I'm not too sure about. Golovkin has been regular champion under Sturm and there's still no sign of them fighting.

Well thats all title sanctioning bodies, they do whatever the **** they like, when they like.

However as far as i know, if you've made a certain amount of defences, or are up for a unifictaion fight, it will be the Super title thats on the line and the interim title will be upgraded to the Regular title.

So in that regard they have every right to make this a match for the "super" title, as the winner either way will be a unified champ.

Only problem being if its a draw, will Khan have made the correct number of defences to qualify for the "super" title?

    Khan/Judah - good fight
    Maidana/Guerrero - good fight.

Forget about the titles and if Khan and Guerrero win then we can expect them to fight each other in the future. Both have the same promoter.

No offence mate but you're giving the WBA way too much credence here. They give them out whenever they fancy, there really is no criteria. Look at Miguel Cotto, made "Super" champion after winning the title against a fairly weak champion and before he had made a single defence. You were closer to it with your first line. If it's a draw I'm 99% certain they will upgrade Khan, not because of the amount of defences, but because it means they can charge for 2 "world titles".

Will uncle bob have any options on Marquez after the PAcquiao fight or is he back with Goldenboy?

I'm sure he'll have a part to play in this saga should he return. Possibly against the Maidana/Gurrero winner.

And that boring piece of **** Peterson is hanging about too, and under goldenboy, he's the one who will **** up any future matchups.

Thats true, but on a positive note it ensures a guy who's served the WBA well, doesnt have a mandatory hanging over his head and can go out and earn a bit of money and do his own thing for a while.

True u end up with a Felix Sturm situation, but atleast you dont have to be facing the same guy u fought 6 months ago, with the threat of getting stripped if u decline.

But I know they've made some effed up decisions too, although I'm offended you failed to realise Cotto actually unified with the WBB, thats right the WBB, the best lookig belt in the history of boxing, in his fight with Mayorga

If that doesnt deserve Super status, nothing does.

He was Super Champion before the Mayorga fight so it was before that big unification.

Oh yes the great BBM, I remember the great speculation after the fight as to "What the white W88 belt was?"
