It's crazy how some dismiss Ortiz with such little acknowledgment of his talent and ability. I consider myself a fan of Floyd, but Ortiz is a good fighter and there is nothing "easy" about this fight. I understand some are allowing an alternate agenda to impact their positions, but bottom line Ortiz is a good fighter and this will be a good fight.

So basically you're saying he's not fighting a Pacman fight, and that he's facing a real challenge and there's a strong chance he could lose? I agree with you :thumbsup

Yes, it's less than 3 months away, but the fight hasn't been signed that long. I remember back during the first negotiations between Mayweather and Pacquiao, Roach wanted the potential bout to happen later than Arum wanted as to allow him to come up with a gameplan for Mayweather.

I'm pretty confident that he has been thinking of how to beat both Mayweather and Pacquiao since his defeat of Berto. But like you said, he is hardly going to give his gameplan away. Have either even started training camp yet? His trainer will no doubt be analysing as much footage of Mayweather at this point as he can.

That type of question was bound to come up, and I don't blame him if he couldn't give an answer.

If Floyd has slowed down at all, this fight will be very tough for him.

Vic is a very fast fighter but he loops his punches at times which takes away from his speed. I think Floyd's going to be counting on this.

You are going to see a lot of counterpunching by Floyd off the ropes, I expect. I think this fight will look a lot like Hatton-Floyd despite the different style of Vic...I see Vic giving Floyd problems the first 3 rounds with his speed while Floyd gets used to timing Victor. I think Victor will end up getting potshotted, however, likely with Floyd's straight right, and get discouraged.

From there, it will say a lot about how far Victor has matured as a fighter...whether he will get discouraged by the rounds Floyd is bound to win, or whether he will adapt. If he can adapt after this happens, I see this fight being quite competitive, but honestly I'm not sure whether Victor has another dimension to his game just yet.

I expect Floyd to win a decision, somewhere around 8-4 or 9-3, giving up a few early rounds as he sometimes does.

It is because had that been someone like Hearns connecting those punches, Floyd would be instantly put to sleep. Fortunately for Floyd, no one like that exists around his weight today. :good

That's pretty funny but what can you say about that? Floyd's got great defensive qualities both in skills and reflexes that strengthen that attribute that Floyd has. You gotta break Floyd to break his Defense.....meaning, you gotta pressure Floyd and set the pace of the fight and do your best to control the distance. Floyd usually controls distance...when someone else sets the pace you see Floyd in his most difficult tests....aside from getting caught every now and then from speedy fighters or southpaw fighters.

What he's saying is the odds were closer in the Marquez fight than the Ortiz fight. Learn how to analyze numbers. And being the better fighter don't give you odds. Wasn't Hopkins the betting underdog in the fight with Trinidad? Tarver? Pavlik? Odds however don't always translate into how a fight will go.

Yes dumb ass and i was saying the odds for a Floyd fight are greater than the pac vs marquez because he is the better fighter between the two!!!! Learn how to comprehend before you open your damn mouth.

Cause Floyd will be the favorite against Pac too!!!

So what if he is? That don't mean much. Again, Hopkins was the underdog for many of the fights he won easily. Leonard was the underdog in the Hagler fight. And you sound real hard behind that computer screen.
