A fat, out of shape, not peak sanders with four losses had a 67% KO ratio........AT HW! Now imagine what a peak, fit, trained Corrie would accomplish..... No contest Sanders was a ****ing machine if only he had reached his potential......
Samders, I was at Hannover for that fight. From my view Wlad flew like a board with that first punch. The frount TV view didn't quite get the same angle as I did.
Because he destroyed Wlad, therefore by Klit fan logic he is one of the hardest punchers of all time whereas in reality he had average power and was average all round.
He also put Vitali on rubber legs which even Lennox Lewis couldn't do. The Waldo fight could be put off as an oddity but definitely not the way Vitali responded to getting hit flush by Sanders.
Corrie Sanders had that quick, deceptive power coming from the left. He doesn't look like he could crack like that, and I suspect that is what led to a lot of opponents getting KOed. I've never seen anyone have Vitali in as much trouble as Sanders did. And that drubbing of Wlad was classic and shocking.
Sanders could really punch and probably hits harder than Haye. But lets be realistic here Haye has genuine one punch power at heavyweight, few fighters have dropped Ruiz and even fewer have hurt the 300lbs Valuev. Haye has more than enough power to KO Wlad. But the better question is if Haye has the speed and skills to utilise his vaunted power.
Sanders has proven power most of his fights ended inside 3 rounds and he hurt Vitali who clearly has an iron chin based upon that huge uppercut he took from Lewis. Though I will agree that in many other aspects other than speed and power he was very average indeed, maybe even less than average. His chin wasn't great, he was usually poorly condition and his technique and footwork were terrible. Look at his balance against Bobby Czyz he was all over the place and his defence was non exsistent and thats one of his more impressive wins. Haye is superior to Sanders in most aspects just not power.
Probably because he was rocking vitali several times in their fight despite not looking like Mr Muscle himself.
Lots of guys 200+lbs have power. It like you say is down to delivery. Sanders was able to deliver his power completely because of his style, reach and his main punch. He matched up against Waldo the best one could expect. **** he even gave Vitali some worries and by the time that fight came around Sanders was 38 years old and a full time golfer. Haye doesn't come in so well matched. He's orthodox just like Waldo so the straight right won't be so easy to deliver. His left hook in close is solid power but probably not so hot leaping forward which is what he'd have to do to land clean. In order for Haye to do anything here he's got to turn Waldo. That means he's going to be in range quite a bit. That means bad news for the fans of his.
http://youtu.be/DPwqtL5QdCo I have never seen anybody have Vitali in trouble like this..i'm going Sanders...
Lewis had sanders in trouble, and the shot which did it is perhaps overrated because it came from an incredibly tired Lennox. Klitschko was staggering like a drunk and holding like a bedraggled Ruiz.
