The biggest problem ive had trying to picture how this fight could pan out is that i cant think of another boxer either brother has fought that is like David Haye. As a unified Cruiser champion like David Haye and a very real heavyweight Evander Holyfield has been a very succesful heavyweight, way past his prime now but hes been around while the Kltichkos have been around. Why have they never fought, has he ever called them out? Have they ever called him out? Have they been activly steering away from a quicker, more agile and smart boxer in preference to bigger, slower unfit opponants who have no chance to nulify the jab that is the cause of most the good thing Vladimir does?
because they dont want to kill him, .. well they said there is no point as they dont want to hurt him which is understandable, but being a haye fan the sad thing is i know haye probably would... tut tut
Wlad chose not to fight Holyfield ~5 years ago out of respect. Any top 10 contender is a more meaningful fight than an old Holyfield.
Grandpa Evander knows that he doesn't stand a chance at this age (though in his prime he would had destroyed Wlad's chin and outboxed Vitali) I think the Kbros don't want to fight old timers, they don't need to duck anybody, perhaps Haye vs Old Holyfield would had been interesting (But David is a ***** )
Thats totally fine now, i wouldnt really wana see them face him now or any time in the last few years but a good say 7 or 8 years ago, when he wasnt past it, I know Holyfield wasnt fighting that much but was it a case of their paths never crossing. Ive never had the Klitchkos down as ever being duckers so im certianly not throwing that accustation at them. I just think of all recent and current boxers in the division id of looked at a fight between Vlad and Evander to give me atleast a little understanding how this fight tongiht could pan out. I really wouldnt wana use the Vitali v Herbie Hide fight cuz i think Herbie and David are very different. Not that David and Evander are that similar.
Because Chris Byrd beat Holyfield for the vacant IBF belt and Wlad totally dominated Chris Byrd on his way to a knockout.
He was too old and neither wanted to be held responsible for being the one that really knocked him punchy, or killed him. Old...like do you see any 45-50 year old baseball, basketball or football players? No reflexes....against Valuof, who was so slow that a 45 + man looked fast is one thing. Against fast hard hitting big fighters is a real big difference. Holy could not win enough fights to be ranked in the top 3-5.....
Holyfield would literally die in the ring if he tried to fight either Klitschko, 10 years ago it might have been a fight.
Holyfield would get a bad beating from either Klit. Pointless fight, other than to add a legend's name to their resume. The Klits have never been too interested in that sort of thing. Vitali almost fought Tyson, but had him prove himself against Danny Williams first, and when he lost they forgot about it.
I remember Vitali I think saying to him, Holyfield is a legend, someone he watched as a child, and that he wouldn't fight him out of respect.
