You could argue wlad won every round, an he was fighting the ref, till the ref even got fed up with hayes running, an diving to the canvas, I will give hayes this, he knew he was out matched from the get go, he was going against a ATG, an he ran, sure he ran with his hands down, but when your half way across the ring from the guy your fighting, that is not to brave, when they were close, hays hands were up. If he did have a broken toe, i think wlad should consider a rematch, but make him fight a couple of live fightes before hand, maybe late 2012,,,oh yea, an a 70/30 split
Good post, I enjoyed the fight as well. I though haye did the best he could do but it simply was not enough. It was a good fight and the best man won. Ignore the trolls here, they are bitter and have no love for the sport.
why post this? do you even respect your own self? haye scammed the world yet you are still giving him props and criticize wlad? you are a ****ing discgrace to humanity!
The thing I find most amusing about this fight, is that people are calling Haye stupid etc etc... Haye has barely done anything at Heavyweight, he had next to no chance of beating Vlad, Vlad is a perfect heavyweight who has dominated for years, Haye is far from being a world class heavyweight.... So the fact he managed to get this fight, managed to get a 50/50 purse, and managed to convince a lot of people he could win this fight makes him very smart in my book, and about 15 mill richer....
Who are these delusional people defending Haye's performance? He fought a terrible fight; if that is his style then he is just a bad boxer. Truth be told, he WAS more hesitant than usual. Haye never tried to win, he tried to cry his way into a couple of points and threw a significant punch every three rounds or so. He is not even close to being a top 10 heavy weight. I hate to say it, but Haye was exposed.
What has happened to the heavy weight fighting these days? Where is the Ali - Frasier style fights where where fighters fought their hearts out and and got hurt. Knocked down but still had the pride to get up. They just fought like it was to the death. Remember Dempsey and Willard? The guy was knocked down 7 times but still got up - I don't know how he did it. I think he had a broken jaw and orbital bone but he didn't quit. The fight game is not the same.
Haye flopping was a great strategy, its effectively stop Vlad clinching and sapping his strength... was good untill the ref lost his balls. Of course wouldn't have made a difference to the fight, Vlad just a superior HW.
Maybe boxers have looked at what happened to these guys later on in their lives, and didn't think entertaining a few people was worth getting smashed in the head repeatedly in each round.... there is more to boxing than just exchanging hayemakers.
