jonas cepulis is NOT Slav .I met him twice and according to him every time he got hit by Foreman he felt like someone slammed him with the hammer.Work ethic?:lol::lol: according to him he use to drink vodka every night and train if felt OK ,he also said two weeks without alcohol and he was ready for championship fights. That's soviet work ethic and that's how most soviet athletes used to train.

    Ring Magazines P4P top 10

    1. Manny Pacquiao
    2. Sergio Martinez
    3. Nonito Donaire
    4. Juan Manuel Marquez
    5. Wlad Klitscko
    6. Timothy Bradley
    7. Wonjongkam
    8. Giovani Segura
    9. Andre Ward
    10. Bernard Hopkins

Thats 4 Americans in the P4P top 10. 3 Black Americans. 1 European.

Now consider the fact that Floyd Mayweather the greatest boxer or 2nd greatest boxer on the planet will assuredly be on the list come September. Thats 4 Black Americans in the P4P top 10.

Yoriorkis Gamboa, will be on the list shortly aswell. So that'll make 5 black fighters that'll grace the list sometime within the next year.

After Wlads performance today, I dont even consider him P4P. And I dont see any Eastern Europeans in boxing, that are worthy of the honor. Quite frankly outside the Klits the rest are barely Arthur Abraham level, adn we know what happened to him.

Is boxing really any more of a lifestyle than other sports? what it comes down to is the individuals determination and focus or lack thereof. any serious athlete knows the risks involved with unhealthy lifestyle choices. but i definitely agree you need to be more wary of these decisions when your trying to last 12 grueling rounds than if you'd be jogging up a court dribbling a ball.

Except that when Floyd takes his spot on the list, Hopkins gets knocked down.

Getting confused. Is this thread about black Americans, Americans, or blacks btw?

We all know that US has the best athletes in the world. If football or basketball players focus on playing soccer as kids we would be just as good as Spain, Brazil, and Argentina. Track and field is not a priority anymore after years of dominance Jamaica seems to be taking over. But boxing has been dominated by American blacks through out the years. Make a top 10 I guarantee there is at least 5 Afro/American or like you guys say Black fighters.

You don't think Dmitry Pirog is a good fighter?? I happen to think he's going to light up the MW division. Gennady Golovkin is also a very good Eastern European fighter who could really make some noise.

Boxing was never really popular in that part of the world and slav's were never as good in boxing as blacks, but more and more of them will be coming up,coz now they can become professionals and make a living of boxing .I never been to russia, but I'm sure hockey, football, wrestling maybe even basketball and many other sports these days are more popular than boxing .Nowitzki and Carl Froch are both of slavic descent .

Dimitry Pirog is a good fighter. But not deserving of pound for pound status. He's 30 and his best victory to date is over a prospect. He might be a force one day, but after his last performance he has a long way to go before he could compete with someone like Sergio.

If any country put lots of time and effort and of course, MONEY into sports any country could dominate. Canada, a country of 35 million people frequently owns in Hockey because it's popular as **** and we fund it like crazy. Jamaicans have always had a great gene pool in regards to sprint performance. Just because they are dominating now doesn't mean the US has taken in less seriously. Is that always your excuse for poor US performance?
