The only part of David Haye which still has credibility is his chin

i mean the way haye's chin was described a wlad jab was supposed to ko him.

 

I wonder if there are still hang ups from the Thompson fight at times. Let's be honest, he's never ever thrown an average amount of punches. It's very calculated, almost like he has a punch output calculator in his brain.

 

I was shocked when he took that right hand.

Like Relentless says, people were saying he could get dropped from a heavy Wlad jab yet he took his right hand pretty well.

 

Oh he got caught a few times, I'm not disputing that. And I'm not claiming he has no punch resistance either (I never have) but it's not like some people are now making out. But just because he happened to anticipate and take a few solid Klitschko punches, doesn't mean it would have been easy for him to just walk through Wlad like a few of the loony bin lot in here seem to now think

 

Was it just me or did Wlad looked ****ed a couple of times after taking a right hand?

Obviously in the 12th and it happened in one of the earlier rounds as well and Wlad's legs looked unsteady.

 

Not about walking through Wlad was it. Wlad doesn't counterpunch, there were plenty of spots to throw more than he did. Even if he was going to miss most of them. He would have landed proportionally more than he did and give himself more opportunities. Of course it would have helped a lot if he followed up with a left hook after the first right hand missed.

 

Wlad's always looked like that and even he openly admits that he's not a great fighter. He doesn't like getting punched (who does?) but he clings on and backs off a little more than he actually needs to.

Haye definitely had him hurt in the 12th for sure. But it was only one punch every time. I think it was the 3rd round where Haye landed a good overhand and forced Klitschko back and to hold on. But they broke and Wlad went on to land a 2 or 3 punch combo on Haye and dominated the remainder of that round.

He doesn't counter punch because he doesn't need to. Haye gave up the centre of the ring far too easily and never forced any real questions of Klitschko. Every time Haye lunged in, Wlad had at least 10 feet to step back and recompose himself.

 

Exactly. He was doing all this head movement **** and throwing nothing back but just talking to him. He would throw his windmills during a stalemate usually, and land **** all.

 

And in true British style, David Haye is getting worse by the hour.

 

Haye looked genuinely shocked that he managed to stand up to those shots.

As a side note, made me laugh when they were talking about Haye earlier on sky and they said "where does he go from here? He achieved a lot he was the heavyweight champion".. umm no he wasn't.. cuz he just got convincingly beat by the champion

Wlad commented in the post fight presser that Haye unlike his other opponents remained alert to the end, he also said that he rarely comes out of fights with a bruised up face whereas he did with Haye.

 

None of that changes the fact Haye had plenty of spots to do more than he did. He was worried about something that wouldn't have been forthcoming. The only way he was in danger when he punched himself was if Wlad just happened to throw a punch at the same time as him.

It probably wouldn't have helped if everything he did was as poorly thought out as it seemed to be. Bumrushing right hands with no follow up. If he was going to bumrush with the right hand he had to follow up with something which he never did. Single shots.
