Was Wlad deliberately being a ****? All that talk of punishing Haye and knocking him out in the 12th, yet he puts up a performance that was just about good enough to win. I didn't see him pumping that jab out, didn't see many left hooks or straight rights. Disappointing fight from both of 'em.
Another point I forgot to make in my original post is it would be really good for the division if the top guys would actually fight more. Quit waiting around for a payday shot and do more like Arreola is now and stay busy and earn a flipping shot, and in the meantime get better while your doing it. These guys aren't doing much of anything, how about fighting every 2-3 months, instead of every 6-9. If you're not fighting, you aren't getting any better.
Boxing lost? Bull****. Had Haye won, even in a boring affair, you all would be singing, dancing and chanting Haye's name for breathing life into the division again....despite him planning on retiring straight after. Boxing is better off having Wlad the victor, because it allows us to appreciate what a good heavyweight he is. He may not be the most exciting, but having made the most threatening opponent of his career look like nothing more than a cheap sparring partner, it shows us what a great heavyweight he's become. The division is poor, yes, but the Klitschkos making their opponents look that poor, also has something to do with it. So just because Haye flopped and disappointed all of us, it doesn't mean we should dismiss Wladimir's quality that easily, and automatically jump on the 'Boxing Lost' bandwagon.
I don't mind that Wlad won. I said before the fight that he's the better fighter, so I don't have any feelings of shock that he did win, nor do I wish he loses in the near future. My comments are about the division as a whole. It's just dead. Guys as truly awful as Helenius and Dimitrenko are top 10 yet I think both would get knocked out in a couple of rounds by a fringe contender of the past like Bert Cooper. Wlad said himself that beyond Haye and Adamek, there is nobody else. This is absolute fact and it's a shame that the heavyweight division, which should be the pinnacle of the sport, is now possibly the worst in boxing. Had Haye won, yes, it would have been different. Wlad would still be the best heavyweight in the world, we'd be eagerly anticipating Haye/Vitali, Adamek and Wlad would both be fighting each other or separate opponents to get a title shot. This division would be fun. Now, it clearly isn't.
well said had haye pulled out the points and won, with the fight action the same... Jack would have been praising Haye and Booth for having "the perfect game plane" and "the division is saved" what a ****ing joke....... yet lets not forget..... Jack says: "I am a wlad fan":roflnutatschatsch
When Roger Federer won every Grand Slam on the planet one after another year after year, making his opponents look like mere amateurs, did anyone says "Tennis is dead"? When Garry Kasparov played and toyed with his opponents in chess, only to annihilate them in a humiliating manner did anyone say "Chess is dead"? When Tiger Woods won all the big PGA tournaments one after another, over and over again, did anyone say "Golf is dead"? People are clueless when they say domination is boring. Haye is gone for the time being, maybe the next HW contender please stand up! Patience, and he will emerge.
That clown Jack makes me laugh. He constantly goes on about how he hates the " Eastern Euopean style" but then he never shuts up about how much he loves the Sultan Ibragimov clone that is David Haye, he's clueless and probably only got into boxing after the hype from the Valuev vs Haye fight.
The division beyond the Klitschko's is probably the worst in boxing. The Klitschko brothers are both very good fighters but aside from them and Haye, the division is atrocious. Which boxing division is worse?
What so you're saying the division would have become amazing if the Sultan Ibragimov clone Haye had of become the Champion of the World? You're delusional little lad.
wow... it was amazing... the brits yelling when haye was introduced...... our ears were ringing in the ring
:yep And since all the best CW's are taking part in the HW division it makes your question look quite farcical wouldn't you say?
