If you think that David is being roughed up on ESB, take a look at what has been happening in the general English media. David is being bludgeoned in the extreme. The media is shaping the minds of the casuals and the would-be casuals that David is a charlatan and utter clown. Puritanical "experts" on this site belittle the casuals and general public, but it is this multititude who make the mega PPV events possible. And this multitude are shaped by watching David being lampooned in situations such as the one in which BBC presenters laughingly shout at David as he exits the studio from an interview to mind not stubbing his toe on the way out. This type of media coverage plays a big part in making or killing favourable conditions for big PPVs. The masses of coveted "casual" potetnial buyers necessary to carry the event do not pore over the pontifications of some forum posters about how David's head movement made the fight such a great technical one that not having an immediate rematch is an outrage for the ages.
Fat Toney has been talking trash for the last 15 years. Don`t see him getting an avalanche of ****. Oh hang on though he`s a Yank isn`t he.
I would like to see a rematch with the two because I think both guys would fight more aggressively than they did in this fight. Haye still wouldn't rush Wladimir like he claimed he would do cuz he isn't going to leave himself that open to a counter. He would probably fight more like he did on Saturday but letting his hands go more than he did. I would definitely look for Wladimir to knock Haye out in a rematch but it would be much more entertaining than this one was no doubt.
Haye doesnt deserve a rematch, interest levels would have plumeted, haye needs to just shutup now and fight and KO a good contender, wind his neck in then do somethink like hatton did, lost to floyd, put in a good performance v malignaggi and got the pac fight. But then again pac sent him into depression and coke so maybe vitali could do the same to haye.....
That's doesn't quite add up. I'll tell you what is is. Haye's a LOSER, and he didn't even go out on his shield, he fought like he was just trying to get through the fight, PLUS he didn't accept defeat like a man. Bruno was often the LOSER too, but he usually went out after putting up a good fight, and he accepted it like a man. Haye talked the talk and UTTERLY FAILED to walk the walk. He's no "brash winner", he's a mouthy loser.
He ran his mouth for wayyy too long, Didn't bring the fight like he promised, and then made terrible excuses... Looking back though, if Wlad and Haye never fought, I would have hated him even more. At least there's a little closure on this sordid chapter in heavyweight boxing, even if the future is still not too promising.
What are you talking about? Toney gets much crap for crossing over to the UFC only to get choked out in pathetic fashion. I feel Haye is getting what he deserves after all the trash he talked and did nothing. I would have no problem giving the same dose to Toney should he fight Wlad and lose in similar fashion as Haye.
Thing is, anyone with good boxing knowledge knew he was 95% likely to lose anyway. It was never a serious competitive Super-Fight, just a hype event. Haye was always a hype job at heavyweight. Talked his way up the ladder. That's what many of us have been saying for the last 18 months or more. After 18 months of hyping him up as a "heavyweight champion" the British media have no choice but to expose him for what he always was. They can't exactly carry on hyping him up.
Can you just imagine the crap wlad would have got had he lost ??, thats why im so glad he won, he would have right away been raped on here, so it works both ways, Haye had to KO him or he was gonna get ****ed up by people, he has made a ton of money fair play, but he may never live this down, just because of his own ****ing big mouth
Couldn't you have a humble winner? Bruno was not a "loser" he just couldn't beat Tyson in his prime (who could?) and Lewis in his prime. He gave it his all and rocked Tyson. And it doesn't seem like the Brits like Carl Froch all that much and he's a loudmouth who gives it his absolute all and has accomplishments at his weight, unlike Haye at heavyweight. I think Froch has earned respect here in the States. He's a lot of fun and comes to fight and uses skill too. No one would give him grief if he gives his best effort against Ward and comes up short.
