I had a great time. Arrived early Friday. Went to the weigh in and met George Groves. Class guy. Out at night in the Reeperbahn. The festival on saturday was superb. The arena was great, shame the fight wasn't. Managed to get away from the stadium no problem. Got a train to the Reeperbahn. Out all day and night Sunday. met some great people, Brits and Germans. In all even though the result didn't go the way I wanted. I still had an amazing weekend.

I had a great time, apart from trying to get back to the hotel I never encountered any problems.

I tended to stay away from the British abroad as they are a complete disgrace to our nation, but the one's I did meet were excellent and the same goes for the Germans.

The fight was a damp squib, but the weigh in and ring walks were amazing, great atmosphere until after round 4.

Other than the **** the up at Stelligen for the return journey the public transport was fantastic.

I'd agree with this 100%, thats exactly what i've told everyone who's asked me about it. The pre-fight atmosphere up to round 4 of the fight was brilliant, after that it went downhill.

Getting back was amongst the worst 4 hours of my life! Standing there in my hayemaker tshirt freezing my tits off absolutely drenched! I stood in that shuttle bus queue for an hour, was hardly moving so i went back into the stadium for abit to get out of the rain. Went back and stood in it after i was kicked out the stadium for another hour then got to the train station and the queue was just the same there, another hour in that by which point i would happily been run over by a bus to end it. 3 different train journeys later i eventually got back to the airport hotel at 5am, and had to be up for my flight home at 6.30am. ****ing nightmare.

Spoke to Lennox at Hamburg Airport before my flight to Dusslefdorf though which softened the blow. He would talk to anyone and sign anything but photos strictly off limits which was disappointing. Also seen Afolabi and Larry Merchant in the departure lounge and Glenn McCrory was on my flight back to Newcastle.

I spoke to Ed Robinson at the weigh in mate and even he said during his fighting days Lewis was a nightmare to interview, since he retired he has become totally different.

In fact when I asked him if Lewis would be in attendance he said yeah, then 10 minutes later in he walked and the ****ing place erupted.

Met all sorts from the Hayemaker team and had my pic taken with Gentleman George Groves, who accepted all requests for photos and autographs from those that asked. Degale should be taking classes from the lad.

Johnny Nelson was also a gentleman for photo and autographs, Dave Coldwell, Ashley Sexton and Ryan Ashton also.

Yeah, in many ways that really makes up for Haye's loss for me; the ****ish, ignorant football fans supporting him.

Wlad is such a classy guy, to see the weigh in with a bunch of pissed up Brits screaming abuse at the guy is simply embarrassing. I know its a pretty snobbish thing to say but bigtime football fans are generally sad ****s. Nothing worse then some pissed up, obnoxious fans on a train for example. One of the very worst advertisements for Britain, which says a lot.
