Anyone interested in Mark Hunt? yes? read this then..

How is Hunt in the UFC when he's been on like a 6 fight loss streak? How did he get back?

And Manhoef knocked him out in 18 seconds? I understand Manhoef is a beast but why is his chin so highly related if that happened?

Hunt is a legend, that's why they brought him in. He's been fighting on the prelims in any event. The next fight with Rothwell should be entertaining at the very least.

It's worth looking up his K-1 career if you haven't already. He was in a particularly sensational series of battles with a prime LeBanner, in which Hunt showed extraordinary durability.

 

I posted Hunt-Le Banner 3 in the "Hunt express" thread, definitely worth a look, one of the best K-1 fights out there.

 

I have not done a lot of research in this matter, but it seems as though I've read that the UFC was honoring the contracts of Pride's fighters after Zuffa purchased Pride. I am merely speculating, but Zuffa may have owed Hunt a few bouts before cutting him.
