Schafer "Mayweather open to fighting Khan after Pacquiao"

Pac balks at testing again we wont have a fight its pretty much that simple. Its always been that simple....Arum and Pac have chose to make it complicated!

From that aspect, every fighter with a loss is someone's leftover. Some though like to after the same fighter's leftovers, over and over again.

A leftover is a leftover. Mayweather fought Baldomir's and Tszyu's leftover in Zab; Mosley's and Trinidad's leftover in De La Hoya; De La Hoya's and Ward's leftover in Gatti; Jauregui's leftover in Castillo; etc.

The last non-leftover Floyd fought was Hatton 4 years ago. Before that, Corrales in 2001. For Pacquiao, it's Solis in 2007 and Lucero in 2003.

Ortiz is damaged goods, and still green. I think we all know that. So, for that matter, is Khan. Still, Ortiz is a good fight for Floyd, if not the threat many would like to make him out to be.

The point of going after Mayweather's leftovers for Team Pacquiao, in my understanding, is to better Mayweather's performance against the fighter since Mayweather doesn't seem to want to fight Pacquiao. Thus, a fan may be able to extrapolate a comparison between the two men who seem destined not to meet in the ring.

How has it worked out?

* Pacquiao bettered Mayweather's performance against De La Hoya
* Pacquiao bettered Mayweather's performance against Hatton
* Pacquiao bettered Mayweather's performance against Mosley

So, the strategy seems to have worked. It also worked, similarly, for Mayweather against Pacquiao's leftover Marquez.

This should be fixed, hopefully, if Pacquiao meets Mike Jones and/or Tim Bradley. Two birds with one stone (for the Pacquiao critics, anyways): No one's leftovers and an African-American opponent, to boot.

Yes, we've already established that anyone with a loss is technichally someone's leftover. However, some fighters make it a habit of continuously fighting a guy that another fighter already beat. De La Hoya did it with Trinidad, constantly feeding off his leftovers. Pacquiao is now doing it with Mayweather.

I don't know how 24 year old fighter with one legit loss is damaged goods.

There's no way you actualy believe this. And if Pacquiao's side really believed that Mayweather didn't want to fight him, they would've agreed to the testing request a long time ago. Pacquaio's kryptonite is counter punchers and Floyd is the best in the business at it. If one fighter wanted to avoid the other, it would be the one who stands the best chance at losing.

Good for Pacquiao. I'm glad he can beat up drained and/or damaged fighters.

Marquez arguably beat Pac, twice. So he's no Pacquiao leftover. There's no argument that he lost to Floyd though. Now Pacquiao is fighting him at WW.

He's not fighting either one of those guys. Mike Jones has no name recognition and hasn't fought anyone. If he really wants to impress people and beat an undefeated, top level Black American, than he doesn't have to look any further than Mayweather. Hopefully Pac has realized that getting your blood drawn won't weaken you for 3 days.
