Team Haye should have learned more from past fighters. Mike Tyson also had the problem of being a smaller guy against opponents who lent on you. He used bobbing and THEN MOVED IN so that he could punch the other fighter. Haye moved but didnt advance and throw - that was his downfall.
Dirrell was at the gym in Miami working with Haye's stablemate George Groves, so maybe he passed on a few tips
half of it was intentional the other half was due to being off balance trying to throw that right hand, the ref was awful though he called all the geniune ones as fakes and vice versa
Ref was ****, Wlad shouldnt be allowed to get away with pushing his opponent down in the first place.
If you're off balance and you fall on your ass it's considered the same as taking a knee - especially if the other guy didn't even touch you. The ref made the right call. The ref also did the right thing to punish Wlad for pushing down, even if most of it was blatant acting on Haye's part.
am i right that leaning is a dirty tactic and against the rules. so haye falling to the floor was a smart way of countering it. I had no problem with it personaly.
I dont remember what round it was but wlad reached out as haye turned and ducked...wlads gloved glanced the back of Hayes head.... haye went down..... it was pathetic...... haye jumped in bent over shoulder in wlads abs....anyone would bend over like wlad did.... ring side you could see some of the times wlad wasnt even touching hayes back... yet down he went.... it was part of the game plan...... a game plan to get points taken away... how about a game plan where you throw punches and try and win.... that would have been much better all week it was NOTHING BUT MIND GAMES with team haye... Late to presser, late to public workout, late to weigh-in, late to enter ring..... they wanted a bigger room at the workout or they were leaving, didnt like the place where the presser was, wernt going to show up, had a guy confront emanuel at the presser about wraps etc etc etc....... all these things to get in wlads head.... but no real game plan for the ring.....
"World-class prizefighters collided in Miami this week, as WBA heavyweight champion David Haye met and worked out with super-middleweight star Andre Dirrell at the renowned 5th Street Gym on Washington Avenue." This content is protected Dirrell taught him those moves.
This, if a fighter goes to the ground on purpose, it's a knockdown. It's called taking a knee. It can be hard to tell a slip from taking a knee, or whether someone was pushed down, but it was clear than Haye went to the ground on purpose, and thus, it warranted a count.
