I hope Macklin has learned to pace himself this time.

How much were the tickets for the first fight. With all the Irish support it would be good to go for the rematch.

In the Irish Star today it had a big article about Macklin fighting Martinez on Paddys day next year in America with Quotes from Peters.

  5. If this is genuine, and I hope it is, then sturm agreeing to a re match tells you all you need to know about what the result should have been. Neither man dominated the other, but macklin done more overall with his relentless attack. He just didn't give sturm much room all night.
When sturm got room he did take advantage of it. Sturm will try to back up more next time and counter and fight off the back foot. Matt just needs to keep the heat on, and invest in the body.
Great match up and it shows matt has arrived on the world scene.

I would go after Sergio, if he looses he still has the Sturm option.

Macklin won that first fight no doubt but I think Sturm will take the rematch.

    Why not both?

Sturm is in November, Martinez in March.

In Macklin's section the price was 99 euro.

Because if he loses to Sturm he wont get Martinez.

But if he loses to Martinez but does well he can still fight Martinez as a yardstick fight before Martinez-Sturm, I guess

Hmmm... was in Cologne earlier this year briefly and enjoyed it. This proposed date falls when I'm off work! Could be tempted by the lure of gallons of Kolsch as well as the fight.
