The world stood still when Ali fought Foreman.

Ray Leonard vs Hagler was watched by over 50% of viewers in the US.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao is a good fight for us boxing fans , but lets put it in perspective .

This is nowhere near the biggest fight of all time, and is probably on Tyson vs Holyfield I level.

if happens in May 2012 and both Floyd and Manny win prior it could be the fight that takes boxing back to the big time. At the very least this fight will prop boxing up like it hasn't been in decades.

They should get on ABC or CBS for free to make it feel like it is something different and special. if it is that impressive or turns out to get many interested think what it can do for boxing in the future.

[. . . with Kellerman and Tarver or Bernstein sharing the face off[/quote]

Are you saying that in your fantasy matchup Larry Merchant will not somehow be involved?

And would this fight really be bigger than Leonard Hearns?

Larry Merchant doesn't do face offs. Floyd won't allow Larry to do it.
    Merchant keeps it too real.

Good point. I forgot about Floyd's little problem with Larry.

Are you kidding me? I hate on Floyd as much as the rest, but it's Pac that follows in his footsteps, picking up leftovers.

I guess you never heard of advertisements, sponsors, commercials ?
Companies pay millions for spots on TV during big sports events.

It can be re aired as well. Not to mention be a homerun for a network competing for ratings.

Larry takes another shot of Vodka. Many is smiling nervously at Floyd, that came dressed as a Head Honcho. Floyd's hand casually rests on the table, with an enormous watch, shining with diamonds and a picture of 50 cent where the digits should be. Many is sporting a new tattoo on his arm, a huge "I AM AFRAID OF NEEDLES" in fancy font and colors.

Larry: Looks at Floyd with cloudy, drunk eyes. So Floyd...Tell us...Why are you such a *****?

    CUT SCENE.

Think I would have preferred Leonard vs hearns or, Duran vs Leonard or Duran hearns over PAC vs floyd. They were more explosive.

    Interesting point.

This fight could possibly make more money if it aired on Network TV.

If it got Superbowl type ratings then maybe Floyd AND Pac could get their hundred million.

yes but the only problem is Floyd is not an attraction anymore.
he needs to knock out Ortiz to put the fight where it was in 2009,2010.
Mainstream people have no connection with Floyd.
