John Murray or Kevin Mitchell are not world class :deal

Mitchell's best chance of winning a world title was / is against a weak world champion , same with Murray (at best) , just who of the following would Murray or Mitchell beat :

Funeka , Marquez , Katsidis , Guerrero , Soto , Acosta , Vasquez and co

If Mitchell is 100% for this im expecting him to comperehensively outbox Murray with a couple of wobbles along the way

At his absolute best id give Mitchell a decent shot at beating Brandon Rios (based on styles) , i suppose we'll get a sneak peak at what Mitchell can do against a Rios type fighter in Murray ...............

Is the wbc vacant if so the winner may get a chance to fight for that with most likely a Mexican opponent knowing the wbc.

You can only compare them to the other fighters at the pinnacle of their division I suppose.

Both, especially Mitchell, would be obliterated by Rios, and out-boxed easily by the likes of Acosta, Moses, Soto, Vazquez, etc. Murray can probably reach the tail-end of the top 10 at best for me.

think both are faily average. Cant see Murray doing too much above euro level not really a puncher yeah hes tuff but he just screams limited to me - Mitchell has been stopped the only time he stepped up against a quality fighter but maybe he can come again think he will beat murray to be honest

Murray has dropped to no.6 with the WBC. Nice work Fwank.

The winner of Murray vs Mitchell will fight the winner off Burns vs Cook for the vacant WBO title.

  7. It all depends on your interpretation of the term "world class" which is itself subjective.

Yep. There are fighters who aren't ''world class'' in terms of talent, but because the division they reside in is so weak, they're at the top or there abouts. Depends on how the individual defines it, I suppose.:conf

Rob, you've said this about six times now and not once said why you think Burns will move up without trying to unify?

WBO title is currently held by Juan Manuel Marquez who is moving to 147lbs to fight Manny. The WBO interim Lightweight title is held by Roberto Guererro who is moving up to 140lbs to fight Maidana.

I dont see anything world class in Murray. A pressure fighter with pretty slow hands, poor power, doesnt throw straight punches, moves around in straight lines. Dont think Mitchell is world class either but think hes better than Murray and should win if his head is right.

    1) Fwank has shown no willingness to unify.
    2) Its the biggest money fight for all invovled.
    3) Burns is a very big Super Feather.

Both would be absolutely screwed at World level. The 135 pound division is HOT.

If Mitchell loses, he retires (imo) and if Murray loses, it'll be:

"just going to have a little holiday
(which will be more than 6 months long), yeah, and see what happens next"
