Mayweather is vulnerable to the feint to the body then right hand. You just cant throw the right hand, you have to feint to bring his arms down and then land it. Marquez, Mosley, Oscar ect landed the same punch. Pretty much the only punch Floyd is really vulnerable to.
Mosley started that sequence with a straight right and Money was still tipsy when he hit him with them other two overhand rights. I dont think he wouldve hit Money if the overhand was his lead punch to begin the sequence. JMM didnt hit him with a lot of nothing and I didnt see one overhand (but Im not saying he didnt.). However, Money has a cold overhand himself,He put it on ODH and I bet Ortiz will be a recipient of it also.
Floyd is vulnerable early in fights against guys with fast hands. Corley had decent hand speed, Judah and Shane. After Floyd finds out that you can't really hurt him, or that he needs to be cautious...he solves you, and soon after you find out how fast HIS hands are, and its usually over.
You'll crazy, seen Ortiz fight before Berto? vs Peterson, Ortiz can't even beat a feather fisted bum like Peterson, then how the hell is Floyd vunerable to any of Ortiz's attack. Floyd is every way better than Peterson, 3 times over. Ortiz is useless when it comes to fighting anyone that has a good jab. Floyd is one of the best in the business.
The shoulder roll presents an opening for the right hand to the body, but nobody takes advantage of it. Well at least since SRL did against Mayweather Sr. From the right hand to the body a fighter could set up other punches. This body punch takes some setting up, but the shoulder roll is there to taunt you into throwing a right hand, instead of throwing the cross you could throw a jab, and loop the right to the body. You want to make a bet if Manny faces Floyd ? Loser gets breast implants and must wear for 10 months ?
Judah and Corley also had great success with right hooks. I look for Pac's right hook to be a major factor if they fight. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtyDlsOO98A[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPe8-JDQ2-g[/ame]
yeah Floyd has a problem with keeping his left hand up while throwing the right from the shoulder roll.
Good post . Your right, you never wanna throw a right hand over Floyds shoulder, unless you set it up properly. You need to go downstairs, and bring your punches back up. Start with a jab, or a feint to get Floyd's attention, drop a right hook to the body, left hook to the body, and bring the right hand back up. Or you can keep stuffing the jab in his face and pound the right hook to his body, or even pivot over to the side and drop it right behind his elbow into his liver. If your as fast as Ray Leonard was ,you dont need to go to those lengths to set up your shots , you can lead with a left hook to head , or to the body, and drop the right hand to his head, etc. Basically you just gotta place ur punches and take advantage of the angles of that whole shoulder roll movement. If you you can keep them in that position as long as possible you can just keep placing your shots and breaking them' down. That fight with Floyd Sr. is a good example how to break down the shoulder roll.
