It baffles me why British fans dont support Amir Khan and the hate in general

Khan is annoying as all hell. Its like listening to a 14 year old girl, asking her parents to go to a party. I wish that guy would have gotten knocked out by Maidana. If he had a little bit more stamina it would have happened too.

There is a lot truth in here, unfortunately some people aren't honest enough to admit it.

    Theres a few reasons ,

1---- Khan was getting hand picked fights , guys who it was out and out dangerous to fight him with the difference in standard , and when he won ; he was something worse than a bad loser ... He was a BAD WINNER.

2---- Dispite his hand picked carreer he often publicly bad mouthed a lot of fighters and then REFUSED TO FIGHT THEM .

3 ----- His supporter base of English born and ****stani muslims , follow him around supporting him , and when they are all together turn the whole thing into a race thing .
4--- RACE , this does play a big part , because Khan uses it has an excuse for everything , they don't like me co i''m a **** muslim , they don't give my brother a spot in the english team cos they don't like me or muslims , radi radi rar. Constantly sprouting racism and never looking why the very people who cheered him has a 17 year old now don't like him

5 --- The guy is thick has pig ****.

6---- He never rematched Prescott which only made people believe what they already thought , his carreer has been well manipulated and managed ,

The kid can fight the kid is talented , the kid has a heart , but basicly the kid surrounds himself with muslims who hate everything english and western , . The ones who pray to allah think ****stan is the centre of the woprld but yet won't go and live there .

Khan is to stupid to just relize he pisses of tyhe very supporters he wants , because of reverse racism .

Had to that the arrogance shown by his familly who all think they are famous , and it sort of tells you why .

The he don't like me cos i'm muslim pisses off the english people who liked him before he was a goose.

I quite like Amir as a personality, like him in interviews etc, but I just don't think he is an especially good boxer. Amateurish footwork, terrible defence and weak punch resistance. All he has really is that he's very athletic and has exceptionally fast hands. I don't view him as being close to a p4p calibre fighter. JMHO.

You mentioned quite a few points there... but it seems the real reason is because of his beleifs? Which considering some of the other boxing nutters who always talk about God, like Ward, Alexander, Holyfield, Judah, Hamed etc Khan is quite moderate.

The stuff that you've writtern seems to be filled with some bitterness and blatant prejudice. Perhaps you have experiance with P.akistanis who do behave the way you've described. But it's hardly fair to say Khan is surrounded by people like that, when most of his interviews, post and pre-fights are with his family around.

I agree he does talk a lot of **** sometimes, but which boxer who wants to make it big doesn't?

I also agree that the constant use of the race card pisses people off, however, Khan hardly uses that even though he would be far more entitled to use it than Mayweather or Hopkins - if you look at the various RACIST abuse he gets on youtube, facebook, twitter, forums.

The fact is a lot of his haters are racist minority who I've also notice make alias and alt names on this forum to write abuse.

    Probably because he's a Muslim.

Other than that, his chin is a little weak.

And being anti-Muslim isn't racist. I'm not saying it's a good thing, it's just not racist. I get tired of hearing that. I know that most Arabs are Muslims, but so are Indonesians and a lot of Russians.

I guess you have to follow the whole story.
When Khan was at the Olympics as an amateur and won silver, the whole country seemed behind him. I remember watching with pride as Khan won his silver medal, cheering him on.
Then Khan rematched M Kindalin (forgive me if thats spelt wrong) as an amateur and won. I believe they had the weigh in earlier than usual to let the bigger Khan re-hydrate. That didnt seem fair and left a bit of a bad taste.
Khan turned pro and started beating the usual lighter fighters, but seemed to me like he was becoming a bit arrogant, yet was fighting lighter fighters and non punchers.
Khan obviously struggling with the weight got put down a few times.
This here is where I think people started to dislike Khan from these points on -
    1. When Khan got put down against Limond, the count got to 9 and it appears the ref said to Khan get up.
    2. Khan didnt fight any real challenges yet then goes on PPV. He then suffers a KO.
    3. After a humbling KO, Khan is still on PPV.
    4. Khan fights Barrera, they clash heads and Marco suffers a terrible cut, which hinders his performance, yet instead of calling a NC, the fight is let to continue past 4 completed rounds? Why? The fight should have been stopped but was let to continue and then after 5 rounds stopped due to the cut?

Most of these points noted werent down to Khan, but in my opinion damaged his popularity at home.

    5. The last thing for Khan was when he fought McClosky in a fight that I doubt anybody felt Khan would lose. I dont mind any champ having a tune up, but it wasnt PPV worthy. When Sky deemed it not PPV worthy, Khan went to a different broadcaster for that fight, costing his fans.

Thats how I see it. How right or wrong I am, I dont know.

Still after suffering a KO defeat Khan has beat some good opponents, and I think Judah is a real dangerous fight for Khan even now, so I credit Khan for taking the fight, just with point 5, find it hard to take to Khan at this time, after I was thinking how well he perfomed against Maidana

    British fans don't support him??

Put things in perspective. He's the second most popular fighter in Britain (maybe no1 now Haye got beaten). He sells out 20k seater arena's?!?!

The UK support alone makes him one of the biggest draws in the World!

It's nothing to do with Race. A small minority care about that sh*t and they're not fans! More likley the time his fights are on in the UK (2am earliest) and he's lost some profile of late. He needs to get more fights on UK TV non-ppv and get some profile back. However, like I say compared to other fighters at his skill and achievement level he is arguably the most popular fighter in the World.

Mountain out of a mole hill here and I don't think the issue exists. If you're wonderign why people don't support khan when he makes $1m + per fight, then more relevant is why don't US fans support Bradley, Williams, Alexander, Ward, Judah, etc the list goes on and on!?!

All sell considerably less than Khan e.g. Williams only sold 2000 tickets yesterday, Alexander Bradley couldn't give the tickets away and Ward doesn't sell nearly as many tickets live as Khan!

Bringing up this racial bullsh*t is just that....bullsh*it!

A very small minority care about that. Britain is one of the most multicultural accepting nations in the World.

It did'nt help Khan being born around 20 miles away from Hatton as Ricky had the monopoly on his generation as far as idolising fans go. I've always been of the opinion that if Khan was a London (Down South) originated fighter instead of coming from Hatton land up north then there may be a different attitude towards him. But in the main he's popular & his exposure on ITV (Free TV) has actually made him very well known amoung main stream joe bloggs. I know all the grannies love him as being that nice young man ect but he is no longer visable to the masses now that he's a PPv fighter. If he had'nt come onto the scene at the time of Hatton then he'd have more support that he's got at the moment & as has been covered by other postes here, his entourage/family really don't help matters & only give the haters fual & 95% of the hatters are Hatton fans.

I like the guy & if he comes across arogant then good for him, he's had the balls to go out to the states & give it a go & full credit to him, he's young, he's brash & he's confident & he's 100%+ heart & i'd go for that in a fighter anyday than all the fake & humble SHITE that my fellow countryman seen so obsessed with. **** humble, why the **** would you want to be humble just to appease the jealous. I could'nt stand the Bruno adoration for that reason.

They love a loser in the UK as it makes the jealous *******s who ai'nt got the balls or the get up & go to make something of themselves feel good & these are the same pricks that just want to drag everyone down to their sad non trying non-achieving level. It's all about engineering social control by the ruling elete, reward the loser & get the queen to give them a medal or knighthood so as to discourage success as that would give the peasants hope & a role model.

Thats why anyone with a modicome of brains when given the opportunity heads to the United States of America where you will be given your just rewards/accolades from your peers if you show willing. Khan can do no right in some eyes in the UK & least we forget he's a young feller & who did'nt shout off their gob & put there foot in it time & again at his age.

But give me a khan anyday as the the false Hatton spouting "Man of the People" or "I'am just one of the lads" shite whilst Hatton's DAD set about fleecing all the Hatton sheep with gusto. ****in Hypocrites & yer can't say that Khan's one of them. But at the end of the day he came around at the time of Hatton so it was alaways going to be tough ask to get a fan base of that size & generation.

I don't really have a problem with Khan talking as much as he does. Some people do, for instance, they don't like it when he says he thinks he can beat Mayweather. He's SUPPOSED to think he can beat him!

However, I just don't think the guy is very good (on a world class level). He's just a fast guy with a nice jab and range. One dimensional, poor footwork and defense, not much imagination. I have no idea other than just pure optimism (and people being carried away with speed) why some people think he's going to be this future top P4P fighter. I'll be surprised if he ever is anything better than a decent champ/title-holder.

It's cause Brits love to see the "local boy done good" story, and will give a fighter all their love if so. But Khan has been given everything and set up to win from the start (just like Audley Harrison), unlike all their other beloved fighters.

Considering how many boring Olympic medalists that run around the ring like marathon runners we (Americans) have, that we don't really care about, and that are killing the sport, maybe the Brits are on to a good thing.

People in the UK can hate Khan as much as they want, the harder the battle the better the winner.

Even Sky have turned their back on Khan, Its nothing Khan's got his own goals and is going the right way about trying to make them dreams come true, boxing is a inner battle, **** the haters they just mad because Khan is making millions, driving fast cars, and wearing £250k diamond watches.

I wish him the best. :good
