While I do believe that Paul lost the fight, I wont hate on him because he came to fight but his skills have eroded due to his belief in a man whose brain aint big as a mustard seed.I noticed from the first fight with Sergio that he wasnt moving as fluid and his punches werent as crisp. Paul is a victim of bad management and training. Its a lowdown dirty shame.
By far the worse decision of the year, and one of the worse and most disgusting decisions i have ever witnessed. **** what anybody says, Lara won that fight, and is still undefeated.
I know this has been done to death, but I watched the end of the Williams-Lara fight, jaw on the floor, and mortified. How much longer can this crap go on? honestly... wtf?
It goes on everywhere believe it or not. Boxing is just different since two guys are putting their lives at risk. This will continue happening and not only in boxing. MMA has had it's controversies already and bad calls and officiating has play a role in sports such as in the NBA, NFL, and MLB.
as long as their's fights like khan vs maidana and ortiz vs berto i'll keep watching. but your right it does hurt the sport. for casual fans to come along and watch the odd fight and see things like that it just gives the sport a bad name and makes boxing look a joke. ive heard people say," i don't really watch boxing that much but from what i see it's just all about money and full of greed and corruption".
considering that india and china are starting to get into it on the amateur level, probably a long ****ing time.
Until the judges start getting penalized we will get these horrible decsions. Maybe if thee decision could be appealed, but only in terrible decisions not close fights
I'm a relatively new fan to boxing and that fight really turned me off from the sport. And then having that countered with, "Don't get so mad. Shady judging always happens in boxing and it still survives" pretty much has completely turned me off from it.
HBO has lost the integrity they once had. they lost their best fighter in manny and have a smaller budget than ever b4. They need to get more involved with who the judges are with the state commissions prior to contracting a fight. I dont know why they cant have the best judges from each state view a fight remotely an send their score online. each state should review each judge and make them explain any contreversial scoring. after a certain number of fights scored more than 2 points away from the average they lose their job
Think of it like the Pac/Diaz fight but only lasted 12 rounds but this time David Diaz won a MD. Ok that's a bit too much but close. You get the point.... I had PWill winning 2 rounds that's it and I was generous... Calling it a robbery is an understatement. Man I wish those 3 judges would get skinned and dip in salt and vinegar :fire:fire:fire
