    1) Unified CW champ. WBA HW champ, beating the biggest HW ever, giving away 100 lbs in the process - this qualifies as a hype job? :huh

    2) Current LWW champ, undefeated. No1 has come close to beating him. :huh

Ooh dont get me wrong, I dont think he's particularly at all. If people what to label him as the next Mayweather based on a win against a shot witter and 1 punch against Urango, that's their stupidity. Fact was, he hadnt done anything to ******t this accolade whatsoever

The Urango KO didnt help either. After that he was basically ATG at 140 they way they were talking bout him.

When people refer to Haye as a hypejob they aren't talking about the Cruiser weight. As a heavy weight the guy never had it but talked like he did. Beating the slowest heavy weight in the history of the sport is no accomplishment; Haye proved nothing with his one "notable" heavy weight win. So yes, heavy weight Haye was never anything more than a hypejob.

I wanted him to be good just like everyone else, but he never showed that he was any good as a heavy weight in the ring. So until he gets a single solid win under his belt he qualifies as a complete and utter hypejob.

Sergio Martinez. The guy has one good win on his resume, over a shot, weight-drained Kelly Pavlik.

    juan diaz deserves a shout.

he unified 3 belts in a very weak division at the time and peeps were saying they were beginning to see lightweight dominance to the equivalent of Roberto Duran's lightweight reign. then he goes off to lose to Nate Campbell.

It's a pity guy's who are apparently hard core fans think this way. This is the **** you'd expect from casual fans.

It's sad but the way it works I'm afraid. That's why I very rarely post on the General anymore. Someone has 1 good win and they become elite, they lose next time out and they're overrated. It would be funny if it wasn't so ridiculous. I mean, Rios has a good win and people are saying he'd knock out JMM. but if the fight was made and he lost, he'd be considered an overrated hypejob.

That was my point about Devon Alexander earlier in the thread. People called him the best in the division and the heir to Floyd after a win against a shot Witter and 1 good punch against Urango. Then he loses to Bradley and he's a hype, when in fact he just wasn't that good in the first place. It's hard to keep up.

Pavlik, Kirkland, Williams, Alexander, Dawson, Direll, Berto,

Basically anyone american who was undefeated at one point (therefore world level in the eyes of the dumbyanks) retains hype staus far after they've been exposed as american level plodders

Next up billygoat Ward, Mike ****ing Jones
