I think he will be eligible for the ebu title in less than a year, that would be a good fight for him against Dimentrenko. I think Perez would beat him fairly easily.

shame !!!! Lara showed real class. Read that 86 % had Lara Winning only 7 % Williams.
The last 7 % could not decide.

At least HBO stood behind Lara unlike following the Alexander-Kotelnik farce. Kellerman's message is clear: we want Lara and not Williams back, so Erlislandy will get his chance don't worry about that.

Maybe this was the wake-up call for Golden Boy not to feed Lara bums then throw him under a different promotion, maybe they will start doing their job which is handling Lara's career properly. So maybe there are a lot of positives in it.

I know that there's more positive than negative here for Lara. I am still in shock as well in seeing the results. But, the Cubans have always been robbed since their amateur days! They say that they will make those judges sit down and watch that fight again but what they need to do is overrule that decision and punish those crooked judges. Lara completely schooled and beat up Williams and this only proves that Cuban boxing is #1.

I have no doubt that Lara will be World Champion and will be coming back stronger than ever. He is only 28 years old and still has his best days ahead of him. Lara is our fourth best boxer, behind Gamboa and Rigo but very close to Solis.

    :thumbsup

More than 90% of fans know that Lara won!!! Even the HBO commentators and Lederman had Lara winning easily.

This robberies only happen in boxing, even at the amateur levels. :fire

For Lederman having a cuban ahead 117-111 it tells you what kind of a beating the fight was!

I know! I know that it's not easy for Lederman to show this lead to a Cuban fighter, he is usually very harsh against us.

What do you guys think of Yoan Pablo Hernandez? After impressing early it seems Wegner Germanized his style to the point of strugle only to show some positive proggress lately, I think if Ulli give his natural talent a little more room he can be a major player at CW and he certainly looked so against Herelius.

The big test comes this August however as he's facing one of the most ridiculously underrated fighters in boxing today, WBA champ Guillermo Jones. Once a welter and last legitimately beaten some 15 years ago, Jones for his veteran days settled in at CW comfortably, his demolition of Arslan was nothing short of brilliant and seems to peform well even closing on 40.

So how do you see that fight going down?

I haven't seen Jones nor care too much about what he has done. All I know is that any Cuban defector who really dedicates himself to pro-boxing can defeat anyone. Hurtado was giving Pernell a schooling at just 20-0 as a pro and Casamayor defeated many great ones too and so did JC Gomez.

I will try to see Jones to see how good he is, but Yoan Pablo is really good. He is one of our best boxers but we hardly talk about him, sometimes he is even forgotten! :thumbsup
