If Bowe fought Lewis and Lost - How would it affect his legacy.

I think that him ducking Lewis has done him much more harm than a loss against Lewis would.

Depends. If he lost a close decision to Lewis it probably would have helped his legacy. If he was knocked out it would have hurt it a little imo.

But I think a prime Bowe that comes in as good a shape as he did against Holyfield would have had a GREAT shot at beating Lewis. Damn I wish that fight happened!

If Riddy Bowe did fight Lenny Lewis in 1996 instead of Andy Golota, then it bad for his legacy if he KO'd early in Rounds 1-5, But if it was a war And Riddy lasts 6 or more Rounds, it be a ok loss on his resume.

Like the other said, depends on the loss. MD/SD? Gains in respect by a good margin. Blasted out of there in 3 rounds? Probably hurts him a bit. More than likely though fighting Lewis would help his legacy since the whole ducking him thing is a big blemish.

I am not sure it would when you consider how much greater Lewis would be though as if he had a win over Bowe on his.

If he got blasted out in 1 or 2 rounds his legacy would be less than it is now.
It might have a knock on effect on Evander's legacy too !

First off, he fought the guy once in 1 of the biggest fights of his life and was stopped. I'm sure that result would not be so casually dismissed if it had been Bowe tko2 over Lewis.

As for the pro rematch, Bowe is just way too easy to hit with right hands. And I think his defense worsens, if possible, when he fights tall opponents. I like his chances much much better when he holds the height and reach advantages. He wouldn't against Lewis and his footwork is so plodding he is going to get hit clean on the outside. Nobody wants to be way on the outside on the end of that Lewis right hand and Riddick Bowe would spend a lot of time there because he could do nothing but follow. A ko loss and his stock is way down and adding a ko loss to his brief timeframe only hastens his descent.

Well, this wouldn't happen because I think that Bowe would win. Sue me.

Peak Bowe always beats any version of clumbsy clown shoes Lewis.

But the loss in the amateurs didn't even seem like a good stoppage to me.

I think Bowe would have knocked out Lennox Lewis, as he would be the best fighter that Lennox ever faced at any point in his career, and that is why Lewis avoided a fight with Bowe by pricing himself out of a fight and forcing Bowe to dump his belt in the trash can.

Lewis at no point in his career ever fought a fighter near the caliber of Bowe and the only big names on his career were not only past prime, but SHOT to bits and nowhere near their peak.

Right! And so many people say that Lewis dominated him. Wasnt the case, it was a BS stoppage and its pretty clear from the video.

It would have hurt his legacy.

Bowe's legacy is largely built on what he could have or should have done.
