Khan hanging around for only 4 more years

    WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan revealed that he has a four year plan. The first step of his four year strategy is to face and defeat IBF champion Zab Judah on July 23 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Amir confirmed that he wants to retire at the age of 28. After Khan defeats Judah, he plans to challenge Floyd Mayweather Jr. According to the source, the fight against Mayweather is already in talks and could take place in the fall, 2012.
    “I want to break all records and 28 will be a good age to go. I’m 24 now. I won the world title at 22. I’ll grab the IBF belt when I beat Judah and I want the WBO and WBC straps as well. Then I want to move up to welterweight and win world titles. The aim is to be the best pound-for-pound fighter. I’m sure I can do that by the time I’m 28.” said Khan in an interview with The Sun.

    Not a great fan of fighters declaring their intentions to have retired at a certain age to be honest. Don't think Khan has it set in stoniest to be honest reading that there, merely that's what he has planned for these next years. I don't think he'll be beating Judah either so there's that plan out the window haha

    khan thinks he is far better than what his performances suggest, dont get me wrong he is a savage talent but he is expecting his career to go smoothly fromnow until the age of 28 then retire, id say this is his fathers plan not amirs

    They don`t,i remeber Calzaghe saying he was going to retire at 28 but i got a feeling that Mr Haye will be an exception.Khan who knows, but i doubt it.

    Not a fan of this sorta stuff him and Haye come out with. Should be focusing on achieving as much as possible in the sport you love. Not looking at exit routes when you've only achieved a small portion of what you can achieve.

    They tend to stick to their plans if they've achieved what they want to / as much as they think they can. It's when there's unfinished situations they often get brought back. If he does what he says in those 4 years and it comes out as he wishes he quite possibly will.
