your wrong the general public feel lewis ran from the rematch because he would have surely been beaten. That is how the history books will read 30 years from now. :deal

Vitali did not require a rematch as he was indisputably the Event winner of the first fight according to his own fans. They live in a world where chasing someone into retirement, not getting booed and winning on points until you ummm, lose are actually better than winning the fight itself. They call the last undisputed HW champion a ***** because he 'ducked' someone he already beat, and they cannot comprehend why someone would want to retire after being punched in the face for 30 years.

As for comparing greatness, Klitschko fans don't believe in all this mythical match-up crap. What they do is take the result of an actual fight between two boxers and completely disregard the outcome.

    :lol::lol::lol:

    you ******.

    no it isn't.

% of rds won is a ****ing footnote. who gives a **** about that?

one of? could you perhaps point out any other criteria you have used. :huh

yeah. but vitali didn't beat byrd did he?

so vitali's best wins ever are peter & arreola (or so this post implies). or maybe herbie hide or danny williams. or is it corrie sanders? or ross puritty? his resume is dog****. it literally doesn't matter how many rounds you've won/lost if you are facing that level of opposition.

"would"? but didn't & aren't. so thats bull**** isn't it?

lennox lewis "would" have won every round he ever boxed if he'd faced the dog**** level of oppo vitali has throughout his career.

    see how that works?

nah. i'll do it this way.

lewis won more titles. lewis was undisputed champ & unified the division himself. lewis had a longer more dominant reign...making more title defences & beating better opposition. lewis won when they met in the ring.

lennox lewis > vitali klitschko. :deal

Steward: "He [Lennox] told me that Vitali hurt him in that fight pretty bad and that he didn't want to have to face him again. I told him that if he wanted to continue fighting at all, that he would have to give Vitali a rematch. He chose to retire."

Well, to reiterate what I said (and you unable to comprehend unfortunately), the best to way to subjectively estimate the level of dominance of any boxers in any era is by simple arithmetics. Count the number of fights lost/won, number of rounds lost/won and KO ratio. This gives you the exact number of the level of dominance of any fighter over its current opposition. See how simple it is?

Everything else is subjective and irrelevant, including you opinion :yep

so how many title defences made & whether or not the fighter in question unified the division & became undisputed champion has no bearing on "subjectively" measuring the "dominance" of a champion?

& lewis made more successful title defences than vitali & also unified the divison which vitali didn't do.

oh no...the only way to measure dominance is by an imaginary statistic that you don't even know.

    ****ing ******. :hi:

We will see who has more defenses when Vitali's retired.:hey

The statistics is not imaginary, it's real. :nut And by the real (antonym of imaginary) Vitali's ahead of Lewis by a mile or two. Good luck :smooch

so you admit that right now (when we are having this discussion) lewis' record proves that he was a more dominant champion & vitali has work to do to change that. glad we agree. :good

& maybe if vitali does surpass lewis' record of title defences...& becomes undisputed champion...the we can overlook the fact that lewis has a h2h victory over the guy. :D

    ok it's real.

what is it? 95%? 90%? what % of rounds has vitali won throughout his career? if you're using this statistic as the sole basis for your opinion then you must know what it is...right?
