the opponent is irrelvent in the sense that any opponent could have the same back problems etc,but burns would still be expected to do what he has to do in the sense of Fighting

Is this just your average East Coast/West Coast stuff that goes on in Scotland or is there more to it?

well there is a bit of that ,it goes as far as some bias from some journos like Brian Donaldson will mostly cover eastern fighters, and Jim (forgot his second name)/hugh Keevins will favour west coast fighters ...its just the way it is .the rivalry really only comes into place when there is a east west fight like Burns/Limon and Appleby/simpson are 2 that come to mine and the songs in the crowd tend to mimic the ones you get at a football games between west/east teams .

its more needle than anything tbh ,but when the fights happen they do go down that route!

Arthur and Burns have been on good terms since they fought which makes this carry on even more surprising.

I remember Appleby's fans were singing "Feed the Weegies, Let them know it's christmas time" at the Burns vs Evenson card in December".

aah, its the legendary Betty, nice to see you again fellow 'ol timer!

To be honest, I have tried my hardest through the years to welcome him into scottish boxings 'familia' but its been hard work, with his idiosynchratic mind! You never know what you are going to get with him, hes OK one minute, likeable the next, then ALWAYS does something ****ish! Hes been like that from day one, although one thing thats always been the case with Arthur is his hatred of Glasgow boxers. Always kept his best for the weegies did Alex, & then when he fought an englander? came out singing against Gomez, & fought like an idiot, & was more interested in kissing Cook than fighting him!!!

I gave him the benefit of the doubt though, was even cheering him at the Kelvin Hall on the Burns-Martinez undercard, where it was plain to see he was done at the top level. maybe thats why hes angry, cos that Burns night was so special & Arthur stunk the joint out on the undercard while the fans never really even cared... Must have killed him sitting there watching Burns get the defining win that him & Scotty lacked in their career.
Who would have thought it years ago, Alex Arthur raging, Scott Harrison rotting away in a jail cell jealous as **** of Burns too(& thats the truth) & the nice quiet guy who was always in the background gazumped the both of the big headed ****s:lol:

Its funny how boxing works out sometimes my good man:good
