Well, I have issue with some of HBO's and Showtime's cards, but at least it's proven champs/ex-champs/top contenders in the main events, not greener-than-pine protected prospects with questionable dance partners and a lackluster supporting cast. The sport has its problems on the whole to be sure, but Top Rank is the only one taking people's money for garbage this bad.

Top Rank absolutely made money off of the Chavez-Sanchez PPV card and that is why they are planning on more of them, starting with the February card.

The other issue is that they dont feel there are enough TV dates out there to satisfy there stable of guys and Chavez has enough name-quality to be able to headline a smallish PPV and still make money.

I have never been a JJC, Jr. fan and dont know if I ever will be.

However, his fight against Sanchez was a good, entertaining scrap and chances are that fans who tuned in to see him fight Sanchez, will be there again when he fights in February and June.

Apparently only ten to fifteen dollars less than huge title unification fights (with production value beyond that of local access tv) :patsch

If they are making money like Arum says than I don't see the problem with putting these fights on ppv. I would prefer less of these type of ppv's, and I buy a lot of boxing ppvs, but I have the option to not purchase them. Just because I don't want to buy it doesn't mean the ones who do order shouldn't have the option.

It seems the fights he headlines seem to be somewhat entertaining to boot.

The JCC headlined ppvs are discounted from the big ones and usually have a couple of his other big fighter on them, not in great fights though, so I can see people ordering them.

Arum has been doing this for a while so I'm assuming he's making money and there are so many tv dates available so what the hell.
