Rampage has one of the best staredowns in mma history. Jones knows to pick his battles lol the rampage/wandy staredown was insanity! But seriously, Jones is just different. He sees no purpose in trying to intimidate guys in the staredown.
Nah man Jones is just dry. Rampage is going to clip him. And Jones is going to get chin checked and derailed. :yep
That look on jones face does not bode well for rampage' teeth, gotta show them while they're there :!: This content is protected
jones staredown is ****ing gay i reckon it pisses me off the way he looks at a 45 degree angle....glad page done that made my day
Rampage can't deal with low kicks because of his heavy lead leg, Jones has really good kicks. Rampage's footwork consists of plodding with poor lateral movement. While Jones still leads off of the wrong foot at times he is fluid and he creates good angles. Rampage couldn't stop Rashad's shot and Jones is just as good at shooting from distance and is a monster in the clinch. Rampage's peek-a-boo defense picks off punches fairly well but it leaves him majorly open for the Thai clinch, a position that Jones excels in due to his leverage and pummeling ability. Rampage's best punch is a looping hook and those don't work well against a taller opponent with a good jab. So, basically, Rampage's best chance is to pressure Jones and use his defense and chin to get inside and land a big hook all without being jabbed and kicked to death, mauled in the clinch, or tossed to the floor and raped. That's not a very good chance and if Jones ends up having a good beard, something we don't have a clue about yet, it's going to get even slimmer. So Stoo, did I copy that off of Wikipedia?
No, credit where it's due, tis a good post. Keep it up and we'll be bestus fwends I do think that if Page does get in close like you said he'll be vulnerable to knee's, but that is the lesser of two evils in this case. He has to close the distance.. But we havent really seen him do that since maybe Liddel, and Chuck's defence left alot to be desired and didnt have the range or variety of strikes of Jones. No secret what Jones need to do here, leg kicks, knee's at clinch range then TD. He needs to be wary of Page's sharp left hook up close but other than that I dont see what Rampage brings to the table Maybe he'll shoot for the takedown 1st and catch Jones off guard
Exactly, and getting close is definitely the lesser of two evils because he's going to take damage inside or out but there's not much way for him to deal any unless he gets inside. And here's what makes Jones so unique and so potentially outstanding. If you fight him out then you get jabbed and kicked ad nauseum. If you go inside to negate the piston jab then you enter into a world of hurt in a 6'4" monster's clinch, and if you try to take him down then he just takes you down and then he beats the living **** out of you on the mat in a fashion we haven't seen since old school Coleman and Kerr with headbutts. I'm not saying the guy is unbeatable because no one is, but there doesn't appear to be another 205er at the moment that has the skillset and physical gifts to implement the gameplan required to beat him.
