I disagree. Wlad grabs somewhat but not nearly as much as Ruiz. He also doesn´t launch in to grab opponents after almost every punch like Ruiz did. Wlad is also much, much more skilled than Ruiz and thus more pleasant to watch. Plus Ruiz very rarely scored any KOs while Wlad scores them quite often. Now if you want to watch paint dry all day, then that´s your choice.

People forget he was entertaining under Sdunek just not as efficient. The only exciting fight he had under Steward was Peter 1.

How is this era weaker than the early 80s or the 50s?! :deal

There's absolutely no way you could rate today as "the weakest era ever" unless you're absolutely clueless.

Some posters have really been reborn on this site! First Hendo, now you

As for the list of most entertaining fights, here's mine:

    Ray Mercer
    Derrick Jefferson
Lamon Brewster 1 (fantastic fight despite him losing)
    Samuel Peter 1
    Axel Schultz
    Phil Jackson
    David Bostice
    Monte Barrett
    Davarryl Williamson
    Frans Botha

Not one boring fight among these.

    10. Easily handling Lennox Lewis conqueror Hasim Rahman. The Rock looked like a little kid that got spanked while his arse was on the canvas. Rahman wouldn't even touch gloves with Wlad before the fight.

    9. First win over Byrd, who was supposed to school Wlad with his boxing skills.

    8. Wlad UD over Haye. I know it wasn't exciting, but after all of Haye's trash talk, Wlad gets the "W" and the last laugh.

    7. Knocking out Ray Mercer. Never saw Ray get clobbered like that before then.

    6. Battering Byrd bloody in rematch

    5. Dropping undefeated Brock like a rock with a devastating overhand right. I can still see the shock waves going through Brock's face. That punch, eventually destroyed Brock's career.

    4. Getting off the canvas three times (twice due to rabbit punches) and defeating Peter when everyone had written Wlad off before the fight.

    3. Knocking the **** out of Peter and flooring him to the canvas in rematch. Left no doubt that Peter was not in Wlad's league.

    2. In the rematch, forcing Brewster to quit on his stool without injury forcing him to do so. Brewster stated he didn't want brain damage and not be able to talk with his kids!

    1. Tying his right hand behind his back, and whupping the trash talking Ray Austin with only left hooks. Austin and Don King were nowhere to be found during the post fight interview.

    Best of the rest...
Last second KO of undefeated Eddie Chambers. Wlad needed a game winning HR in the bottom of the ninth and he came through, crushing a walk off Grand Slam!

You're right! I meant "he needed it" for the fans entertainment. KO's are always more exciting than UD's IMO :good

All of his performances are great pretty much.

People just hate on him because he's white and because he's a European.

If he was American he would be the next Muhammad Ali

Although Thompson or Brock would have beaten today's Rahman, I still think the Rahman win was of more significance.
