What if Haye stayed at Cruiser?

Cruiser is a stagnant division imo.

 

1. he was forced to move up.

2. he beats them all.

3. no ducking. not from anyone. people who say haye ducked cunningham are ******ed.

4. **** knows. p4p is just a popularity contest. it means **** all.

 

Yes but to be truly undisputed surely he had to have captured the IBF belt thus beating Cunningham? I personally think Haye had the beating of him.

 

Haye is coming in at 210 and 213 for his last fights. Wouldn't seem to be a terrible cut to 200 but who knows. He made 190 early in his career.

If Haye stayed at 200 - along with Adamek - we would have a true superfight at cruiserweight for the first time ever. The winner would certainly be top 10 p4p.

I think Haye beats any of those guys you mention (Huck, Lebedev, Tarver ...etc) but would pick Adamek over Haye due to his chin and his aggression.

 

That's what I don't get. Even at HW, Haye - Adamek would be a good match up. But no one wants to fight if not for a belt, or big pay check.

 

Good point. There are some very good matches at heavyweight between and among Haye, Adamek, Povetkin, Helenius, Chambers, Arreola, Thompson, Boytsov ...etc.

Why do they rarely fight each other? Probably because they are hoping for a big Klitschko payday.

sorry...but we're not talking about a guy carrying a lot of fat like eddie chambers. & 10/15 lbs is a lot to cut for every fight.

 

True - but if he walks around at 210-213 it would be a not-too-tough cut and he might benefit more from being so much bigger and stronger (compared to his heavyweight opponents) that it would be worth the drain/dehydration.

But if he stays at heavyweight he should indeed add some weight - at least 220.

 

HW is the most popular, he wanted $$$$ and fame. can't blame him, if not for klits he'd prolly enjoy a good HW run. I def agree he'd beat all the CW challengers mentioned. And as for adamek, let's see this 2 former CW, who moved to in shape HW (which are far and few between) fight at HW.

Keep in mind from early 2006 on (or possibly earlier) Haye was complaining about not being able to make the weight. After the Mormeck fight he blames his knockdown on being weight-drained.

Now Booth says Haye is "basically a cruiser" so i dunno what to think.

Haye's best weight seems to be around 210 but 200 isn't much of a stretch...if Haye opts to continue then fights with the likes of Huck could be pretty entertaining.

 

i think he was just trying to highlight the size difference between wlad & haye rather than say he should/could still be a cw.

i doubt very much he could comfortably make cw...& there is no money in that division anyway...so why would he bother even if he could?
