Easy fight for Mayweather. But not because Ortiz isn't a legit opponent, but rather because Mayweather has become so damn good.

The odds against Floyd is great coming into this fight, to further proof that he's the best fighter of this era. His Vacation and his opponent who's nine years his youth tops any situation Pac has faced since he came into the welter weight division. Even though Pac vs Mayweather is the fight everyone wants to see. Floyd really don't need him to secure his legacy. The route Floyd is taking now is all he needs to secure it. He fights Ortiz then give Khan a shot, after that take a trip into the 154lb division. Challenge the winner of Cotto vs Marg, that's if either fighter is still relevant. Then take on Martinez to top things off. Doing all of that while still remaining with a 0 on his record will definitely put him ahead of Pac, and his name in the hall of fame.

A 2 division champion is over-rated? Maybe, depending on who you ask, but in general I do not believe that is true. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he is ATG status or something, but I think you are selling the kid short. Victor is a good young fighter who is hungry.

I just don't agree with people trying to dismiss a 2 division champion like he is trash. Being successful in multiple divisions is not an easy thing to do.

Ummm...Mayweather eats up fighters that come forward, and all Ortiz ever does is come forward.

I see the fight ending within 6-8 rounds.

Again, losing to Mayweather does not mean Ortiz is over-rated. The guy has won titles in 2 different divisions.

People are dismissing the kid like he is garbage. Sorry, I will never agree with that. Unless you were a multiple division world champion yourself, I really don't think we should be diminishing his accomplishments and calling him "over-rated." Like what he has done is just SO EASY to accomplish and any average fighter could do it.

Regardless of what you think about the outcome of the fight, Victor Ortiz should be respected as a fighter.

Ortiz is a 2 division champ?

I thought he only had the welterweight title and never won a world title at 140?

Now this is EXACTLY my point.

If the outcome of the fight is a foregone conclusion, what does that say about the fight and the fighter?

It was a lesser title, but again, I just don't like how people are dismissing the kid like he is garbage.

Respect the fighters and the boxing game.

It's not a foregone conclusion, fights never are. If you're asking my opinion: Yea, I think he loses the fight and possibly gets stopped in the later rounds.

However, I would argue most fights with Mayweather have been a foregone conclusion in the eyes of many. The guy is an ATG fighter. He would be favored against Manny Pacquiao as well, mark my words.

Name me a fighter that would be favored against Mayweather? You'll have to move up in weight to find one in my opinion.

So...it was a junior belt or something?

Yea, a regional belt. The WBO NABO belt and the USBA belt. His loss to Maidana ruined his world title aspirations at 140.

But like I said, it's easy for people to sit behind their computer and criticize. The guy is a good young fighter, and I think people are selling the kid short. He is only 24 after all.

probably one of the best Arum interviews...

saw nothing wrong with what he said..

dissapointed to see him not put Gesta against Rios though. He's building up Gesta IMO.

Didnt we want Floyd and Pac to fight fighters comming off wins and in their primes?

Ortiz is this and he is the #2 WW in the world and he is lefty and aggressive and has great power.

The man is giving you everything you wanted to see him fight....what more do you want from him.
