Mayweather Jr. willing to make date with Wright

WBC champ says risk would be worth it

"I would fight Winky Wright and could make it happen for November,"

"I'm a risk-taker. All that has to happen for the fight is for HBO to come to the table. I respect Winky Wright, and he's the best 154-pounder in the world, but I'm the best fighter in the world.

"I want to be the best ever, and to do that, you have to take risky fights, fights people think you can lose. Well, after everyone saw how he dominated Felix Trinidad, that would be a risky fight for me, wouldn't it? But I'll still take it."

For some reason i keep seeing Martinez vs Hopkins as a supreme difficult task but one where i could see a chance for Sergio to take.

It wouldnt be a high cost fight physically where Sergio would be ruined afterwards but the fight where Sergios flaws would be exposed as Hopkins does with everyone. His style and size would make it hard for Sergio but would be an amazing task.

Definitely one that crossed my mind, paisano. Hopkins does well against in-and-out fighters, but Martinez is more of a counter-puncher. His mobility and versatility would make it really hard for Hopkins to outwork him on points. He digs deep and punishes Martinez with counters and inside blows that ruin his prime, but Martinez digs deep himself and keeps busy enough with fast-counters and ambush combinations over 12 rounds to get a decision. All, of course, on his best night ever after his best preparation with the perfect strategy. Damn, what a sight that would be!

PAcquiao could beat Martinez at 160 and take his lineal MW title, but he would go through hell to do it.

Pryor against Leonard would be a great victory, but he is too big for him imo, pryor unfortunately is in his nown land, where he clearly beats everyone in his weight class, (duran and jcc 50/50) then has his biggest challenges in the ATG of higher weight divisions.

Pac would be brave, but he couldn't take Martinez's bombs.

That last one sounds particularly brutal. I could definitely see Frazier chuggin on through the fight and absorbing the punishment through a victory, but at a very high cost.

I'd also like to throw it out there that Adamek might leave himself in the ring against Vitali, depending on how big his balls really are.

Morales beating Khan would be nuts.

I think the biggest war of attrition JMM could ever manage would be a good stand against JCC, and beating Canelo for his 154 belt.

Pac-man vs JCC jr. I think he could win that fight, juuuuust, but JCC would be 170+ on fight night, and pac man would take a beating to do so.

I think kahn right now vs Canelo would be interesting. If Kahn's jaw holds up, i can see him winning, but taking a beating, but i'm not sure his jaw holds up.

Mayweather vs Froch, to be honest, i dont give mayweather a chance here, but im sure some deluded people here think so. If he did win this fight, he would take a massssive beating in doing so, because im sure froch can walk through anything mayweather can throw

Remember that 'could' means that there is the mathematical possibility of success. Yes, Corrales could , in my opinion, conquer Duran as he is one of the few guys in that weight range who can hang with Roberto on the inside. Couple this with Chico's 'leave it in the ring' attitude and you've got someone who is a live dog against anyone in history at 130 or 135...IMHO.
As far as Quarry-Marciano, Jerry Boy could definitely beat Marciano...but not with modern referees. Old school refs were much more tolerant of cuts and the like and this would give Quarry the opportunity to go out on his shield and outbox Rocky over 12 or 15 rounds. He might bleed out by the 9th but it'd be a great fight.
