I am a religious person but find the constant thanking of God etc a bit much. I would never talk about my faith without someone directly asking me. Also Ward having that nickname is a pretty un-christian thing to do.
I think Carl has to keep this fight at distance. He's too slow and crude to live with Ward inside all night. He'll eventually get mugged off his energy by Ward on the ropes but he is strong enough to survive there for a while. Now he cannot match Wards speed but he can try and time him coming in. Froch throws a wild uppercut and he might just get lucky with it. Yes he is going to need luck to win this imo. I was impressed with how Froch returned fire everytime he got tagged last time out but I think he might be digging his own grave if he tries that with Ward. I'd rather he sticks out a jab to get away as I fancy Ward will clock him in mid punch is he opens up on autopilot. And yes his S.O.G tag is :yuck
Wards too disciplined to take anyone lightly, certainly not a fighter as deceptive and smart as Froch. But as so many others have said, while Froch will make a contest of it, Wards skills and ring IQ make it a hard ask for him. That said, I do see one deficiency in Wards game he doesnt like being jabbed. On the few occasions Kessler had any success it was when he used a double or triple jab. Deny him the range and keep him working and Froch has a chance of making it a close fight. I still cant see it. Not that I think Ward is anything particularly amazing, just that hes so rounded and prepared that hell have a way to diffuse Carls offence. I hope it isnt true though.
Yep. If any fighter/trainer we going to not under estimate Froch's ability its Ward & Hunter. I think only a true elite elite fighter could ever beat Ward I dont think Froch is that....unfortunatley.
