are they the same crowd? that would solve the problem of building fighters up on terrestrial only for them to **** off to sky for ppv. that would be a great way to build a thriving uk domestic scene with the option of going ppv for the big international fights. is this the situation?
In simple terms, the bloke who owns Channel 5 (Richard Desmond) also owns Primetime and all the other Portland channels (basically the porno ones).
Richard Desmond owns both. How would it solve that problem? They will just be ****ing off to Primetime for PPV instead.
I only picked up on this yesterday reading something on here and thought " Great, they will give us a taster on channel 5 then stick up for PPV on Primetime"
because at the moment you have no terrestrial support in the uk because they just **** off to sky when they are big. theres no point investing in young fighters because they never get the big ben eubank showdowns that itv used to get for example. this is great, 5 can show fury/chisora for free and then keep him in their ppv network. basically it means you still get the free coverage and the young uk boxers get the support that they need to stop the sport dying on its arse.
C5 - Primetime partnership really works. Build em up on C5 and then when they think they are the bollocks they can go to PPV. If they can't sell then they can come back to C5.
Well yeah, but there were a load of adverts before, during and after the broadcast mentioning it. Interestingly when it was discussed on the porogramme itself, they never actually said the Khan fight was on Primetime.
