Pacquiao more power than Pryor? You are on drugs......and the difference in the fight is Pryor could take a shot......Pacquiao would crumble getting hit on the button by Arguello, Pryor did not...... Pryor hits harder, is faster, is a better boxer, and can take a shot better than Pacquiao. The "Hawk" would stop Pacquiao in under 8.

Generational gap. A lot of these punks on ESB weren't even born when Pryor was fighting.

It's the other way round, H.

As a pro, no matter how vocal Pryor was to get SRL in the ring, Sugar wanted no part of him.

Leonard offered Pryor a fight for half a million, but Pryor wanted more. It was a bit cheap of Ray but considering the fact that Pryor made about 1/10th of that against Cervantes, and it was a chance for major exposure, it wasnt all that bad at all.

Pryor was a fantastic fighter. He gets mentioned a fair bit, but not enough.

I always thought the guy was borderline ******ed. He was too dumb to feel pain. And believing that water was some sort of special potion. The way he use to stand in the middle of the ring and point his glove at the opponent for like 10 seconds. God I wish their was a fighter like him today.

I think Arguello at 140 was still formidable and would've beaten a number of other 140 lb. champs.

Despite being naturally light and long in the tooth, I'd favor him over any of the 140 lb fighters today.

I don't know if I ever bought the SRL ducking Pryor thing. Ray had his dancecard full for 2 years with Benitez,Duran,Hearns. And then add in there Kalule, when would Ray have fought Aaron? Ray almost retired because he was burned out after the Hearns fight, having fought and beat 3 ATG fighters in 2 years. Ray would not have moved down, so it would have been Pryor moving up in weight to fight Ray at 147, and Pryor was not big enough to do that comfortably.

It wouldve been in early 1981, when the fight was probably offered (SRL-Duran 2 was Nov 80, Pryor fought Blackmoore in June 81' and talked about how he wanted more $$$).

I don't think the offer was before Pryor beat Cervantes in August 80'.

Pretty short time frame between Leonard's fights with Benitez and Duran 1. Just a few months and that one fight with Green.

Leonard has said after Duran he put his focus on Hearns. He fought Kalule in June 1981 with Hearns on the undercard fighting Pablo Baez, there just was not time as you have said.
