It's also worth remembering that a couple of years after getting outclassed by Jones, Ruiz arguably did just as well against Valuev as Haye did.

Ali was more than capable of doing this same thing to Jones.

Add Marciano, Dempsey, Louis, Patterson, Frazier, Tyson, Holmes, Holyfield to that list as well.

    Hayde would have murdered RJJ.

He had a chance against Chris Byrd, and he could have gotten a very boring, drawn out decision win against Valuev, much like Haye did.

Haye is sloppy, and less skilled than Jones, he like Jones also had a shaky chin, Roy would've had a decent shot against him.

No he couldn't, Patterson, Liston and especially Frazier are ATGs and would've kicked his ass at HW. 3rd rate guys like Ibragimov, Bent, Briggs, Chageav etc is all he would beat.

bentt and hide were never considered heavyweight champs. the wbo was equivalent to the wbf today.

    Just being honest

Peter was slow, fat, and crude with overrated power.
    Maskeav was ancient.
Ibragimov couldn't beat Austin, nuff said.
Briggs was old and ran out of breath just climbing into the ring.
Chageav struggled to beat a far inferior version of Ruiz that got outclassed by Jones.

Um...what would he have done differently had he faced Haye in his prime? Use his blinding handspeed he used to have? His quick footwork? His...eh...
I can't even put my finger on what skills have deteriorated since 2003. He was almost the exact same fighter back then and got schooled handily by two former middleweights and you have him beating Haye? Beating someone who put him on his ass with the first punch of the fight inside 30 seconds?

I even had Ruiz winning a round or two but that was more due to Haye being inactive than Ruiz doing crazy ****.

nothing like judging a guy when he's at the end of his career. jones beats a lot of the smaller heavy champs throughout history. jones' only appearance at heavy was when he was 34. ali was post-manila at 34 and i think jones might have a chance vs that old version of ali, much in the way jimmy young deserved to win vs ali.

I agree with this. Sanders, Brewster and Haye have the power to turn Roys lights out, but whether they could catch him is another matter entirely.
Roy would have beaten the Holyfield that fought Ruiz too.
He possibly even beats the Tyson post prison. Tyson was predictable, loading up on single right hands, and looked clumsy and poorly balanced. Roy, may, have been able to pot shot, but it may also have looked like Tyson v Marvis Frazier.

If you don't there is a difference between a guy pushing 40, than there is no need to further discuss this, any reasonable person would admit that Ruiz was a much better fighter against RJJ than he was against Haye.
