Theres just not that much variation in F1. I guess you have to be into all that technological **** and motorcars in general. The only time it ever excites me is when it pisses it down and its got that air of unpredictability. Which doesn't happen nearly enough.

Boxing - you can tune in and get something different every time. Sometimes they're **** fights, sometimes they're great, sometimes they're something inbetween. Same with football I suppose.

Someone thats an F1 fan could say the same thing about Boxing in all honesty. its all about how you look at it.

I like both sports. prefer boxing. if i had to rank sports in order of watching i would say.

    1. Football
    2. Boxing
    3. Tennis
    4. Moto GP
    5. F1
    6. Athletics
    7. Basketball
    8. UFC
    9. American Football
    10. Golf

Theres not a lack of variation in boxing though, every person is different and its an individual sport. Thats what makes the difference.

F1 is more about your car, and cars aren't human. They don't have emotion, they do the exact same thing every race which is go around a track. And to be honest, what they do on the track isn't riveting, I agree the new booster thing whatever its called has been a good introduction, but still not enough happens for me. Unless its raining, then I'll happily watch when people are sliding all over the place and really being tested.

That's the laziest, most half-hearted apology ever.

    Kudos.

They don't realise it's one of the biggest sports around, watched by people the world over, generates sums of cash that boxing could never come close to.

I'm not much of a fan to be honest, I prefer touring cars over F1 and prefer 2 wheeled racing over any form of 4 wheels(racing cars is for people who can't race bikes:deal) but for people to dismiss it is quite laughable really.

The problem with boxing is it shoots itself in the foot with numerous titlists, **** poor matchups and top fighters refusing to fight each other. At least F1 can say all the top drivers go up against each other and the public can tell you who the champion is.

I agree with the latter half. The politics, the matchups, the belts, the greed, it all contributes to making boxing a very difficult product to market and the lack of backing from terrestrial TV is what hurts it. Boxing in itself still has the potential to be massive, people like seeing combat. Throughout history, people were chucking men in with lions. People love it, but at the moment boxing is ****ed up and you have to be hardcore to follow it.

That's what I'm getting at, those of us who've been watching boxing since we were nippers know all about the ups and downs of following the sport but the vast majority of viewers don't have a clue, I mean a lot of people did used to think that Ricky Hatton was the world light welterweight champion when he held the WBU belt.
