Why does the British title seem to be worth more then the Commonwealth

You would think that the Commonwealth belt would be more valuable to fighters and promoters as it shows you are the best fighter in 54 countries rather then just the UK. I understand its about winning the title of your home country but still wouldn't a fighter want to prove themselves on an international stage.

Something about the Lonsdale belt though, isn't it.

(The Commonwealth belt was only created a few years ago, it was a trophy before.)

Tbh i'd rather be the best in Britain then 54 other countries where most nations fighters are under nourished deprived African's and if your lucky you get a Australian to trade punches with.

Plus the Lonsdale belt is beautiful, the Commonwealth's like some gay leather belt.

Because of the countries it takes in, it dilutes the quality of fighters going for the belt: you can't defend the british title against a "teak tough Ghanaian whose never been stopped Adddam"

Wouldn't you like to prove to be the best in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zeland?

Tbh Canadians hardly fight for the Commonwealth nowadays, the level of Australian and New Zealand fighters ain't no better then our domestic scene's nor would the money be better.

Australian boxers have been quite poor of late, they have a few world class guys then it's a major drop to their next best

The UK promoters really took the shine off the belt by using it to get another fighters name out there or set up a unification with the British belt. They don't have rankings either I think so they basically let anyone challenge for it and by anyone I mean anyone there has been some truly bad fighters brought in from Africa to fight for it.

If the belt was used right there could be some good fights for it like when Milveskey came over and give Murray a good fight for it or when Molitor came over and won it. Actual quality fighters rather than anyone they can find who looks a safe fighter. Those two Aussies who fought for it last year was probably the best Commonwealth fight I've seen in years.
