65 / 35 fight imo, Audley could keep it long then get the KO, he has power and hitting Fury isnt exactly difficult.

Audley could take Fury out, but in my opinion all he's got is a puncher's chance. It's a shame because Audley can actually Box when he want's to, he's just more suited to the Amateurs than the Professional game.

    I'd go with Fury

I am not too sure there are many moments when Fraudley looked "Very Good"

That said though Fury hasn't had too many moments when he looked "Very Good" either.......and at times against McDermott and Chisora looked pretty bad.

Heavyweight boxing may well have returned to terrestrial tv.......quality heavyweight boxing sadly hasn't though!

Amazing how many thought Audley could beat Fury. How time changes.

he's not a bum, he just fell short of his own hyperbole. He had balls to try to launch A Force, made many mistakes and it became A Farce. Anyone who at least attempts to escape the claws of Warren is ok in my book. He was not suited to the pro game perhaps, but won a few titles, English, WBF (come on, it nearly sounds like WWF), got a mil out of the BBC (you can say it's a waste but have you seen the waffle they spend public money on), European, revenged Danny W brilliantly with real venom, came from behind amazingly to spark Sprott out with one arm and a massive pec tear, won a couple of Prizefighters and got a world title fight. And had the heart to get in with Price and Wilder when they, particularly Price, were deemed danger personified. He won the Commonwealth Gold, Olympic Gold, turned a prison sentence into a degree and career in the hardest sport, and set the scene for the revival and resurgence of UK boxing.

And I bloody bet on him to beat Haye......

I never understod the hatred he got for getting the BBC money. I think it was something like a million quid for 20 fights. That's chump change. They probably spend more these days making documentaries about down syndrome kids doing drag shows.

I know mate. It was 10 fights. He was treated like he'd nicked £40m off the Children in Need team.

That's still a pretty fair deal. On the face of it it looked like they were signing the next Lennox Lewis with the public all behind him.

Achieved more than 90% of fighters.

I liked him, and occasionally, (the 2 Prizefighter tournaments he won rather easily), he looked a bit special, albeit against fairly low level opposition.

it was a big deal at the time, and pretty baffling as the BBC was rapidly losing live sports rights, and every boxing fan knows that a prospect’s first 10 fights are can crushing non-events barely worth watching. then when Audley failed to crush his cans, the backlash started. it was some gamble, what was their end game?

of course it doesn’t seem like much nowadays, when every boxer who can be vaguely sold as a “great amateur” gets a promoter exclusive contract and the red carpet treatment.
