What is everyone seeing in Fury that I'm not!?

Why would Steward work with Fury at training camps then? and let him spar with the Kits? and say he could be as dominant as Lennox Lewis or Wlad Klit? Doubt all that is just for the British media mate.

Im tryin to figure it out myself, when he 1st started watching him fight he was being labelled one to watch and terrestrial telly was showing his first fights so he got a bit of a backing and that seems to of stuck. It doesnt seem to be doin him harm gettin all these plaudits that i wasnt expecting.

To me he does look like he could be good, fairly fast hands and when hes actually loadin up his shots there is some power in there. All those one inch nothin punches he was throwin against Chisora hes always thrown but never really so many, he just uses them to create openings but he was throwing these little nothing shots in flurrys which was a bit wierd.

I think under his dads supervision he hasnt progressed very much at all, bad diet, bad coaching, he looks exactly like he did at the start of his career and i said straight after the Chisora fight he looked like somebody with only 4 or 5 fights under his belt.

He could be decent, right now hes far from it, let alone looking like he could EVER become a dominant world champion. I see his potential like the experts on telly talk about but he seems a long long way off reaching it and doesnt look like hes trying very hard to get there either.

Hes a crackin guy from all ive seen or read of him and would love to see him take it all a bit more seriously but right now i cant see what everybody is goin on about with him. And incase anybody wants to get a stiffy over this post and tell me im talkin ****, what ever its just my opinion.

 

He's from the UK, he's white, and he's big. So he's popular with the masses over there.

It helps he has a cool name that invokes Iron Mike and Fury is a cool last name.. too bad he's nothing like Mike, and he doesn't fight with a Fury.

He's slow, his defense is bad, he has multiple bad habits that at this point don't seem fixable. He's destined to be a big KO victim to someone.

 

Tyson Fury's a bum. He would have been a 1 round KO by Holyfield, even an old Holyfield.

For the past 18 months, I've been hating on Tyson Fury. He never really showed me anything. I took Chisora to KO him in their fight and I though this guy is crap.

That said...... Chisora came in at 260+, and ROCKED Fury good in the 2nd, had him on ***** street. I was fully expecting the fat, totally outofshape DelBoy to finish him off the next time he landed flush. Well, the next 10 rounds came and went, and Fury clearly outpointed DelBoy and even though his featherfisted combos were weak and ineffective, they were by far enough to take a solid win away. I was disgusted by Chisora who showed a great chin, good power and strong will to get inside, but didn't take the fight seriously and undertrained, at least from a fitness perspective.

Now, that's what I took from the fight watching it once, and from reading the reaction from the fans and the writers. I was totally down on Tyson for being a chinachinned, slow, weak, HW, and I was down on DelBoy for being out of shape in the biggest fight of his career.

After having rewatched the fight, and being able to pause, rewind, and slowmo it, I gotta change my opinion of Fury.

He has EXCELLENT combinations, has a well rounded arsenal of punches, and has excellent ring generalship. He was able to move the fat Delbot whenever he wanted, and when Delboy threatened him, he used his combinations to defend him. I don't want to commint boxing blasphemy, but he actually reminded me of a young Cassius Clay with his combo punching as a defensive strategy. Oops..... too late, I just did

Now that I'm thinking about it, the KID is smart. He is planning on taking it slow to develope what he has. He's in no rush to be the HWCotW, and would rather fight regionally until he has filled out, and learnt to punch through his opponents instead of using his opponents head as a mitt, pulling his shot before sending out the next. Sure, he'll break his hands now and then, but he'll be able to KO the likes of Chambers and Potvetkin soon enough, and depending on if he is serious about it, and actually is ABLE to develope this current skillset he has, I could see him becoming the NEXT great HW, even beating out my favorite young fighter Robbe Helenius.

I don't know, time may prove me wrong, but I don't think Fury is the next top dog. Right now I can see someone like Helenius outbox him or even knock him out.

P.S. Speaking of up and comers with funny names, whatever the hell happened to a guy named Thor Hamer? I watched a couple of his fight and quite honest he really WAS showing some decent moves and it looked promising.
