As a boxing fan what p****s you off??????

The only thing that ever really pissed me off in boxing were clearcut robberies.

 

The only thing that makes me mad are bad decisions. Williams vs Lara was a horrible decision. Fighters train their asses off to peform and they get robbed.

 

don king, arum and too many titles

 

Promising boxers wanting millions before they have got in the ring.

Promising boxers not building their profile on free to air cards, before going to pay broadcasters/PPV events.

Boxers frightened of losing (especially their "0"). Losing isn't the end of a career, it's the potential for a re-match/trilogy.

Too many belts in too many sanctioning bodies

There should be no PPV boxers, only PPV events

Rubbish undercards on PPV events

Inactive boxers

 

1) Sanctioning bodies
2) fans writing off fighters after 1 loss. Hell even 2 losses, it's a sport, people are going to lose
3) The May / Pac thing. And if it does finally happen it won't be the fight that the casual fans were expecting and boxing will suffer another set back.
4) paper belts
5) poor matchmaking
6) the fact that fans have very little say in getting fights signed.
7) that I love this sport but it treats it's fans like garbage
8. hometown decisions
9) fighters coming in out of shape / over the weight limit. IT'S YOUR DAMN JOB, AT LEAST PRETEND LIKE YOU GIVE A ****!
10) A lot of the fans are dicks and are convinced that they always know more about the sport than you do.
11) A lot of the fans don't know a damn thing.
12) the fact that the bar next to my house doesn't carry the fights anymore.
13) Hearing that 'boxing is dead' (although less lately)

 

like many of you said, too many titles, weight divisions, promoters, and fights that should happen not happening.

Bad decisions and no way to undo them.

I think this is one of the worst things in boxing. You have the greedy sanctioning bodies that screw things up, fighters that are to stupid to know when to quit, bad referees and all but the decisions are the worst thing of all.

It can make the difference between a wasted career and a rich life with fame and praise.
Take the Matthysse vs Judah fight last year for instance.
Most saw Matthysse win that... wich would have given him a shot at the vacant IBF title, wich he probably would have won. It would then probably have given him a shot at Khan (wich he would probably have lost, but you never know) for a sh#tload of money.
Now he "lost" and fought Alexander and lost another (very) debatable decision.
This can ruin the man's career... I don't say it does, but it already ruined a few big paydays for him. And that's only one example out of many.

The EBU continuing to change their rules on whom can challenge for their belts. James DeGales title shot comes to mind.

 

fights being cancelled, guys ducking each other, home town decisions, price of ppv, cherry picking, idiot fans who dismiss fighters after one loss, idiot fans who call fighters bums, idiot fans who go on about glass chins, idiot fans who predict a fight wrong then make excuses, boring fights, corruption in the sport like the possibility of steroid abuse, the fact that unlike every other sport you sometimes have to wait months for the fighters you like to step in the ring.

boxing drives me mad on so many levels but i still love it!

 

yeah thats a good example of a fighter suffering from bad decisions. like you said its had a an effect on his career and might ruin his chances of actually earning decent money, just because fighters like judah and alexander are more marketable. definatly one of the worse things about the sport.
