Lamont Peterson is now the no1 contender for khan's IBF belt after winning his title eliminator v Victor Cayo. Peterson's victory improves his record to 29-1-1 (15 KOs), with the only defeat of his career so far coming against WBC and WBO champion Tim Bradley. Will be a good fight, another tough fight for khan, one i expect him to win.

I think Khan is beyond this now. Bigger things ahead although would be a decent enough fight, Peterson is too small at the weight and isn't a puncher so would be a clear UD or late TKO for Khan imo

I dont think it would be tough at all, I think Peterson is a massively overrated fighter, and Khan would stop him within 5 rounds. He's lucky Ortiz decided to stop fighting after 3 rounds, or he'd not be mentioned anywhere near the top.

I think even this version of Morales would beat the crap out of Peterson too, and would be a better fight for Khan, as he's a wily old customer, and Khan would learn alot more against the god of war.

I can't see it happening to be honest, It will be either Morales or move up to 147.

Morales management do not appear interested in a Khan bout. Khan isn't going to 147 in December.

Failing Morales and Bradley, It's going to be along the following lines:

If Prescott beats Mccloskey, he will be offered the fight. If that doesn't happen, then next to be offered will be Guerrero if he beats Maidana.

If neither of those two things happen then it goes out to the highest profile fighter they can get for the least amount of money. Neither Mccloskey or Maidana will get getting it despite what they might do in the ring.

Khan is ducking the man everyone wants to see him in the ring against, we know it, the fighters know it and sky sports news knows it - Saint George Groves.

Either Khan moves up to 168 and takes the superfight we all want or he's done in the game imo.

Khan should go round destroying all the American fighters to build up his destruction of Mayweather.

Not a bad fight, but it doesn't excite me at all.

I think it will be Morales if he wins the WBC title against Barrios after Bradley was stripped.

I think Peterson would be a quite low down on the possibles list. If Khan is only having one more fight at Light Welterweight then there is no real point in a mandatory fight. He will go with the fight that brings the most money. Unless Bradley steps up then Morales is the big name which would bring the cash and the possibility of another title.

If as stated above Team Morales don't want the fight then Peterson could find himself in the mix along with Prescott, Guerrero, Katsidis, Matthysse, Soto etc

Khan will beat Morales and Peterson, does anyone want to see these fights?

A move up to 147 makes sense, way more options.
