?? I think you misunderstand me mate. It was mostly old fighters ( including Dempsey) in my top ten so I was having a little laugh at what Dan posted. Sorry you thought I disrespected the sport of boxing Remove that oak tree from your rectum my good man
I'll try and spell this out for you. I'm 42, I don't get "inspired" by watching boxers these days, I just watch and enjoy the fights. I was inspired when I was a kid and I was watching Leonard, Ali and reading about Zale-Graziano or Archie Moore winning a world title at 40 odd. The fighters I listed all had a damn sight more impact on my enjoyment of boxing than the likes of de la Hoya, Hopkins, Cotto, Pac etc because they are of a different generation. Is that so hard to understand?
I'm much younger and I feel the same. Pac is a pretty awe-inspiring fighter sometimes, but I've felt far more amazed watching boxing from yesteryear. Roy Jones, Tyson (always felt excited when one of his fights was coming up despite not really being around for his best years) and Lennox are the 3 most recent guys where I've really felt an affinity with whilst they were still active. B-Hop is not far off my top 10, no doubt one of my all time favourites, it's been a pleasure to watch his career unfold these last few years, the man is an old timer. Miguel Cotto has been a real favourite but I'm not sure he'd be one of my truly all time inspiring fighters. Class though, of course, and there are still plenty of quality fighters around, just not quite of the same ilk as those that I've seen from olden days ;-) The depth of technical superiority in times gone by is what gets me excited. You really get to see the best of everything.

I am a fan of the big boys (no homo):good Still some decent HWs around. I like Helenius & Arreola plus we're lucky with a competitive UK scene at the moment Live every division it has up & downs but its always been the most prestigious & important imho
