Hatton would be banging Cotto's dehydrated body all night long. Cotto's best is at 147, and has problems at 140, while Ricky is undefeated at 140 (except pac). Cotto might win rounds in the first 6 rounds through effective jabs and right hooks, but, as the rounds came to close, Ricky's persistent body shots would take toll.

People forget how good prime Hatton was. Hatton KO early.

 

Tough to call at 140 (obviously not at 147) but I have to go Cotto. He was chinny at 140, but with his uncle in his corner he employed better technique and packed a bigger punch than Hatton.

I'd say Hatton by decision. At 147 Cotto no doubt but at 140 Hatton style would have been bad for Cotto.

 

Great fight, I think Cotto stops him by getting the best of him on the outside behind a jab early, and struggling but overpowering him on the inside by landing the heavier cleaner blows, which take their toll down the line.

 

I can't call it. It would be a lot of fun while it lasted.

i`d have Hatton winning points at 140 and drawing at 147 because he pushed Mayweather a lot more than a lot of Mayweathers previous opponents and i can`t see Cotto doing better against Mayweather than Hatton did.(Esp with the firm and unfair ref).

 

Well, Cotto is a boxer-puncher pressure fighter, not a straight up infighter. He boxes behind the jab and closes the distance to get his mid-range hooks off to the body and head; he can fight off the chest at close quarters, but he prefers to switch it up between the three distance points. Hatton loves to get right in there and bury his head while working the body. He gave Mayweather a good fight, but Cotto would do it differently himself. Therefore, Cotto and Hatton wouldn't be going at each other with the same exact tactics.
