I have scored this fight a few times and need to come out of retirement on this one. IB...your my boy (admit it, you miss me around here)...but my dude, that was NOT a win for Barros. And the fight was crooked as ****. A few notes... 1- One of the judges scored rounds 1 and 9 as 10-10. Which would have been fine if Barros didnt get KD'd in both of those rounds. Thats a bs 4 point swing on one card... 2- In the 6th round, Cab lands a big left hook on Barros (partially blocked but it lands)...Barros staggers back and his glove touches. Simple KD call...ref calls it a slip. 3- In the 2nd round, the ref warns Barros of rabbit punching. Barros throws about 120 more throughout the fight with no second warning...despite pleas from Cab and his corner to do so...which led to my favorite part of the fight. Barros lands a big shot behind, Cab complains (rightfully)...the ref does nothing...Barros does it again, Cab again looks at the ref and when he doesnt say anything, he blasts Barros twice behind the head with hooks. 4- Apparently, and I am only going off of what I have read...Barros' corner were talking about the score in the ring before the scores were even read. 5- In order for Barros to have won, you would have to give him 9 rounds. I would LOVE to hear what those 9 rounds were. Cab won this fight...the closest I have scored it was 6-6 minus the two KDs or 114-112 for Cab. But that was giving Barros every single close round. Terrible robbery...Im glad the WBA stepped up and did the right thing. Other than that...hope all is well bro...as I fade back into Bolivian.
Which 9 rounds did you give him? I can't find more than 6 giving Barros every single close round. And your right, Cab's styly is ugly...but ugly doesn't mean you can't win the fight. This should have been the third time Cab went into his opponents backyard and took the title. I gotta respect that.
Caballero is going to have to do more than what he did in the last fight. Sitting back throwing 5 punches a round isn't going to cut it. If Barros comes in throws punches, is agressive he should win...again.
I lurk here still a bit...but normally get put off from posting when I see titles of threads like "Oscar is Zab only higher paid". LOL! This one I really wanted to chime in on...so I switched lurker to poster for a day or two I guess. Last time I posted, someone told me I "probably started being a Hopkins fan after the Pavlik fight"...I guess my reputation no longer precedes itself. LOL! Good to hear from you too tho bro.
Yea Caballero has to go for the KO this time around or just retire if he get the L or an unimpressive Win....
